VOLLEYBALL: TCCS ends season with near upset

October 18, 2011
The Times Observer

ROCKY GROVE - Tidioute Charter's season ended on Monday with a near upset of Rocky Grove.

"We (ran out of gas)," said TCCS coach Margie Manning, whose Bulldogs lost, 26-28, 23-25, 12-25. "They were hard-fought games on both ends. We just did a nice job the first two games of covering, whether it be tips or hits or blocks. I think the excitement of it all... today, it was the realization this was the last game for our seniors."

Three seniors, Loralee Lindemuth, Lacy Wolford and Michaela Mohrey, helped lead TCCS to a 3-6 overall record.

"Considering all the seniors we lost last year, they did really well," said Manning.

Lindemuth had two kills and three blocks, Wolford one kill and 17 digs, and Mohrey two aces and one kill.

Underclassman Morgan Molek finished with three aces.

Tidioute ended its season with its first junior varsity win, 25-23, 14-25, 15-11.

Ryleigh Mahaney had three kills for the 1-8 Bulldogs, Emalei Schaberl two kills, and Kendra Sauers two aces.
