Warren County Christian School has put itself in a good position to get the top seed in the New Penn Christian Conference playoffs in a couple weeks.
Technically, WCCS is tied for first place in the conference with Christian Life Academy with one loss each. If they win out, a coin flip will decide the top seed in the playoff tournament.
WCCS defeated Erie First Christian, 3-1, for the second time this season on Friday. Christina Girard had 12 service points, with most in the deciding fourth game for WCCS. She added six kills and 12 assists in a 22-25, 25-14, 25-12, 25-22 win. Allyssa Kerr had a season-high 29 points and 17 aces, Jessica Lauffenburger six kills, Dymphee Zortman seven points and four kills, and Caitlin McCall eight digs.
"There was a lot of back and forth in the first game, but Allyssa had a nice run (serving to keep it close)," said WCCS coach Monica Kerr. "It was just a real good team effort, too. Everybody stepped up. Erie First is a real good hitting team. It was just a good back-and-forth."
WCCS won the junior varsity contest, 25-15, 25-17. Kate Erdman had 12 points and five aces for WCCS, Allison Weidner eight points, and Rebecca Erdman two kills.

TCCS 3, Erie Bethel 0
Tidioute evened its record at 3-3 overall with a 25-20, 25-13, 25-17 sweep of Erie Bethel on Friday at Tidioute Charter.
Anna Lindemuth had seven aces and nine assists for TCCS, Loralee Lindemuth had eight aces, 10 kills and one block, Lacy Wolford five kills and seven aces, Emalei Schaverl had two aces and one assist in first time playing varsity.
Kendra Sauers added two aces and one assist - also moving up from varsity. Morgan Molek had two aces and seven assists.
TCCS travels to Venango Catholic on Monday, then hosts a "Pink Out" on Thursday against Erie First Christian. Junior varsity begins at 4 p.m. at Tidioute Charter and varsity follows at 5 p.m. on senior recognition night.
