WCCS keeps rolling along.

The Lady Lions improved to 4-0 on the young season Friday with a 3-0 victory over Jamestown Bethel at WCCS.

WCCS, under first year head coach Monica Kerr, has yet to drop a set this season, defeating their Bethel competition 25-18, 25-9, 25-19 on Friday.

Whitney Poindexter led the Lady Lions with 18 service points and Dymphee Zortman added nine service points and seven kills. Kaitlyn Weidner finished with seven kills and Christina Girard chipped in 18 assists at the setter position.

Kerr also credited Alivia Kelsey with playing a strong defensive game.

WCCS tries to remain perfect on the year Tuesday when it visits Erie First Christian.

ERIE - Although the Tidioute Community Charter School is in a rebuilding year, the Lady Bulldogs were quite competitive in Friday's season opener.

TCCS dropped a 3-1 decision to Erie First Christian, losing games one and two 11-25, 18-25, winning game three 25-23 and dropping game four 16-25.

Despite the setback, coach Margie Manning was happy with the way the team started the season. She said the result was especially promising as the team played without standouts Morgan Molek and Lacy Wolford and lost a third starter during the match.

Loralee Lindemuth led the team with seven kills and two blocks and sister Anna Lindemuth chipped in four aces and three kills.

Tidioute's junior varsity team was defeated, 8-25, 12-25.

TCCS returns to action Wednesday, hosting Venango Catholic.
