MEADVILLE - Warren County Christian School's girls volleyball team improved to 2-0 on Friday with a key 3-1 win at Meadville Calvary Baptist.
"They showed great improvement from the first (match)," said WCCS coach Monica Kerr, whose Lady Lions won 21-25, 25-17, 25-10 and 25-12. "I was proud of them for regrouping (after a game-one loss). The serving really improved."
Dymphee Zortman got WCCS going with her serves in the game-two win. Whitney Poindexter finished the match with 18 service points, and Zortman ended with 17 points and six kills. Kaitlin Weidner had 13 points and five kills, and Allyssa Kerr five kills.
Kerr said WCCS and Meadville played a great junior varsity match with the Lions getting edged, 22-25, 25-14 and 16-18.
Karisa Messinger finished with 10 service points and four kills for the Lions, which play at French Creek Valley Christian on Tuesday.
