NORWICH, Conn. - With the exception of two late innings in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader, Jamestown's offense was completely punchless during a three-game series with the Connecticut Tigers.

The offensive struggles continued into Thursday's series finale with the Jammers (28-26) managing just four hits in a 6-0 loss to the Tigers at Dodd Memorial Stadium. It was the second time in three games, third time this month and fifth time this season that the Jammers failed to bring at least one run home.

Jamestown will look to resuscitate its offensive attack Friday through Sunday when it returns home for a three-game series with the Lowell Spinners at Diethrick Park. The Jammers continue to lose ground in the New York-Penn League's Pinckney Division and now stand four and one-half games out of first in fourth place.

Connecticut (23-28) started scoring in the third inning, taking a 1-0 lead and never letting up. The Tigers added two runs in the fourth and closed out the scoring with three runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Tyler Collins' two-out single in the third made it 1-0 Tigers. In the fourth, Dean Green had a solo homer and Eugenio Suarez added an RBI double to extend the advantage to 3-0. The three-run fifth included an RBI double by Collins and a two-run homer by Green - his second of the game.

Green was 2-for-4 with three RBI for the Tigers. Chad Wright, Collins and Suarez also chipped in with two hits each.

The Jammers' bats only collected four hits on Thursday. Ryan Goetz led off the game with a double, but was stranded on third. Kentrell DeWitt added a third inning single, Rand Smith singled in the sixth and Brian McConkey collected a hit in the ninth.

Daniel Oliver (1-2) suffered the loss, allowing four runs on seven hits in just four innings of work. He struck out four and walked none. Thomas Peale pitched the fifth and sixth, allowing two runs on two hits while Jheyson Manzueta pitched two perfect innings to close things out.
