Bingo
Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department will hold Bingo this week at the firehall.
Doors open at 5 p.m., early bird games begin at 6 p.m. and regular bingo begins immediately following the early birds.

Knights of Columbus
Tidioute Knights of Columbus members will hold their regular general monthly meeting and also their annual picnic on Thursday, Aug. 4 at Bob Schwab's Camp on Gorman Road.
All members are asked to bring a dish to share.
There will be target shooting, fishing, golf and fellowship at the picnic.
Social hour is from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with the picnic at 6 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7 p.m.
Senior Center Menu
Thursday, Aug. 4 will be Macaroni and cheese, stewed tomatoes, and dessert.
Monday, Aug. 8 will be Fish, coleslaw, potatoes and dessert.
Tuesday, Aug. 9 there will be cold plate, fruit and dinner roll.
Thursday, Aug. 11 will be breakfast.
Watson Grange
Matthew and Miranda Irons were chosen the PA State Grange Young Couple for the next year at the recent Young Married weekend.
It was noted that from the activity of Watson Grange they can now claim the State Director of Deaf and Community Service Department, State Grange Lady Assistant Steward, State Youth Committee members, three past State Officers as well as 6th degree captain.
The quarterly birthday dinner honoring Matt Irons, John Hollabaugh and Rick VanOrd preceded the recent meeting that was presided over by Master Bob Hollabaugh.
Members were encouraged to do a decorated gift box for competition at the Warren County Fair as well as other state projects such as an apple pie, chocolate chip scones or turtles. Other projects include photographs, needlework, Scrapbooking page (grange related), Christmas ornaments are also a great idea.
Both the Subordinate and Junior Grange have their exhibits planned for the fair.
Watson members are needed to help in the Pomona Kitchen during the fair on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Forest Grange members will work on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Benner reunion
A Benner Family Reunion was held on Saturday, July 16 at Benner Park in Tidioute.
Seventy-five people were in attendance.
Everyone enjoyed the fellowship, reminiscing, good food and games on the a picture perfect summer day.
The four surviving children of Bud and Edna Benner were all present. They are Ruth Warner of Youngsville, Helen Turner of Erie, Martha Frisina of Tidioute and Robert Benner of Pinehurst, NC.
The couples twelve children and their off-spring now span five generations.
At this 45th Benner Reunion the oldest descendant was 86 years old and the youngest was just five months.
Next year the reunion will be held on Saturday, July 21, the third Saturday of the month at Benner Park.
Senior Center picnic
There is still time to sign up for the Tidioute Senior Center picnic which will be held at the home of Martha and Carl Walters on McCauley Hill Road.
The date is Thursday, Aug. 18.
Please call the Senior Center at 484-3020 to sign up. Bus service will be provided but you must be signed up ahead of time for transportation.
You may bring a dish to share if you want. Also, please remember the only meal that will be prepared on the 18th will be for the Meals on Wheels patrons.
There will be no meals served at the center on Aug. 18 due to the picnic.
Volunteers needed
There is still a need for volunteers to help with traffic control and crowd control for Saturday, Aug. 6 from 2 p.m. till 4 p.m. during the W. W. II Reenactment.
If you would like to volunteer and help out please call the Tidioute Borough Office at 484-7424 and have your name put on the volunteer list.
Bottled water needed
The reenactment committee is in need of bottled water for the re-enactors.
If you would like to donate some water please take it to the Tidioute borough office between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Glassware needed
Watson Grange is still accepting donations of glassware for the Dime pitch to be held on Thursday, Sept. 22 to Sunday, Sept. 25 during the Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament festivities.
Please call John Hollabaugh at 484-2242 to drop off glassware or have it picked up.
No dogs
Pet owners are being asked not to bring their dogs to the re-enactment due to the heat, gun battle and cannon noises and re-enactors running.
All these distractions are not good for the animals and there is always the danger of them getting loose and hurting themselves or someone.
So please show consideration for all those concerned and please leave the pets at home where they have plenty of space and water.
Brooms for sale
Tidioute Lions Club still has several brooms for sale.
These are the very sturdy corn brooms that hold up for a long time.

Re-enactment time
This is the weekend, Saturday, Aug. 6, for the Third Annual W.W.II Reenactment in the town of Tidioute.
This event is Free and open to the public to come and watch as the 200 plus Reenactors battle for the bridge.
Tidioute bridge will be closed at 2 p.m. as well as a section of RT 62. however, emergency vehicles will be allowed to travel this area with caution for any emergency that might occur during this time.
A special viewing stand will be set up for the Veterans along Buckingham Street giving our veterans a front row seat for the action. VFW Post 8803 will be providing this special seating and cover for our Veterans.
We have several W. W. II veterans still living in Tidioute and most of them will be at the viewing stand if you care to stop and visit with them and perhaps thank them for the great job they did for the United States during this war.
Nationally known vendors will be at the encampment located at Tippy Ballfield just south of the Tidioute bridge and they will have lots of authentic items for sale as well as several items and vehicles on display for your viewing pleasure. Reenactors welcome you to come and look around the encampment and they are more than willing to answer any of you questions.
There will be dog-tags for sale at the encampment as part of the souvenirs.
Best time to visit the encampment is Friday evening or Saturday from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m.
Food will be available in the concession stand at Tippy ballfield sponsored by the Civil Air Patrol, and a booth will also be set up on the Tidioute side of the bridge for food sales as well, which will be provided by Tidioute Community Charter School.
A Chicken BBQ will be held on tournament grounds on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 12 noon till the food is gone and is sponsored by Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament. You will receive one half of a chicken, baked beans, macaroni salad and dinner roll.
Commemorative three inch buttons for a cost of $1 each will be on sale on Friday and Saturday and is sponsored by the VFW Post 8803 Ladies Auxiliary members. They will also have a stand in front of the Veterans Memorial on Main Street next to the VFW Post home.
VFW Post 8803 sponsor the Porta johns that will be located through the borough of Tidioute.
Limestone Township pays for the Porta johns in Limestone Township.
T-shirt sales
Commemorative WWII tshirts will be sold again this year. This project was started two years ago by Kent Heenan who gave a portion of the proceeds to the Tidioute Community Charter School.
This year the sale of the shirts is co-sponsored by the Little League and Recreation Committee and the Reenactment Committee. Proceeds will be used to pay for advertising this event and any other expenses that may occur to hold this event. If any proceeds are left it will be split between the committee and the Little League/ Recreation committee.
T-Shirts are on display at VFW Post 8803 and at Tidioute Hardware Store. You can purchase a shirt at Tidioute Hardware anytime during regular business hours for $10 there is an extra cost for the X sizes. The shirts come in sizes small to 3X.
Sales will also be held at the concession stand at Tippy ballfield on Friday and at the Veterans viewing stand on Saturday.
Rummage sale
Lisha Bupp will be in charge of the Rummage Sale at the Tidioute First United Methodist Church on Friday, Aug. 5 and Saturday, Aug. 6 from 9 a.m. till 4 p.m.

Firemen's auxiliary
Anyone who would be interested in joining the Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary should contact Helen Williams at 814-730-2893.
Williams will be organizing the Auxiliary and is accepting names of those who wish to join.
A mutual date will be decided once the names of members has been complied and members have been notified.
Those ages 18 and older can join.
If enough interest is generated for those age 14 to 17 then a Junior Auxiliary will be formed.
Commemorative buttons
Ladies Auxiliary members of the VFW Post 8803 will be selling the three inch commemorative buttons again this year.
They will be at the concession stand on Friday, Aug. 5 and on Saturday, Aug. 6 at the Veterans Memorial on Main ST next to the Post home and at the Veterans Tent at intersection of Buckingham Street and King Street.
Cost is $1 each. This button will display a picture of the Tidioute bridge.
