USA swimmers
Several Warren area swimmers participated in the USA Swimming Long Course Niagara Championships held this past weekend in Brockport, N.Y. Participating were, front row, from left, Claire Daniels, 100 breast, Samara Steber, 50 breast, 50 free, 100 free, 50 back and 50 fly and Elin Smith, 200 back, 100 free and 100 back and, back row, Cameron Daniels, 200 free, 100 free and 50 free and Bennett Steber, 200 breast, 100 breast and 100 free. Golf tourney
The 4th annual benefit golf tournament for the Warren County Crime Stoppers will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the Blueberry Hill Golf Club. There is a fee, which covers 18 holes of golf, a cart, food at the turn, beverages, prizes and a chicken barbecue. EHS volleyball
The Eisenhower High School volleyball boosters will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday in Room 309 of the high school. All parents of players are encouraged to attend.
WCYFL registration
Registration for the Warren County Youth Football League's 2011 season will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at War Memorial Field. For information, contact Greg Latimer at 723-4608.
Golf results
Rick Zydonik, Larry Bearfield, Jim McMeans, Pat Hultquist and Ralph Gallo all had low gross of 39, and Sherm McKown had low net of 26, in Blueberry Senior Golf League play Monday at Blueberry Hill Golf Club. Bud Baughman had second low net of 29 and Al Schumann, Brent Casey and Joe Wilks all shared third low net of 30 during play.
Bill Wilson had three birdies during the round, Hultquist had two and Jim McMillen, Bearfield, Gallo and Jim Garvey had one each. Here are the team results from Monday's round:

The team of Marlene Sandberg & Debbie Leofsky had low gross of 39 and Janeal Hedman and Sonia Probst had low net of 24 in Monday Night 2-person Scramble League play Monday at Conewango Valley Country Club.
Judy McGinn and Barb Wilson had second low gross of 40, Ann Follett and Tammy Jensen had third low gross of 42 and Joyce Puleo and Raechel Evans had fourth low gross of 45. Betsy Williams & Karen Coombs had second low net of 26, Jackie Kavanaugh and Deanna Bowman had third low net of 28 and Donna Vicini and Ruth Derby had fourth low net of 31.
EHS boys soccer
The Eisenhower boys soccer team will have kick-arounds from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the high school soccer field. New players are welcome to attend.
Softball tourney
A benefit softball tournament for Rudy Meighan Jr. is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 3, at Betts Park in Warren. The one-pitch slow pitch tournament - entitled Have A Heart - will begin at 9 a.m. and include both men's and co-ed teams. In addition, a cornhole tournament will take place during the softball action. The entry fee for softball and cornball teams will go directly to Meighan and his family.
Meighan, a fixture in several Warren County recreational softball leagues, recently suffered a heart attack. All of the proceeds from the event will go to Meighan and his family to help offset medical bills as well as missed time from employment.

Grid camp
There are still openings for the Warren Dragons football camp for players in grades 3-8. The camp will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, August 2 and 3, at War Memorial Field. There is a fee to attend and participants are asked to bring a drink and spikes. For more information, contact coach Rick Nowacki at 730-6718.
