BUSTI, N.Y. - The biggest E-Mod event of the year is on tap for this Saturday night at Stateline Speedway with the running of the Applebee UEMS E-Mod Invasion.
Last year's Invasion saw Dave Hess Jr. best a huge field of E-Mods to win the $5,000 first place prize. Hess is not only the defending champ, but has also won the Quincy Turner Memorial UEMS event held this past June. Greg Johnson, Jamestown N.Y., is the E-Mod points leader with Ischua N.Y.'s Rich Michael Jr. 100 points back. Scott Gurdak, Bear Lake, is third followed by Warren's Butch Southwell and Ashville N.Y.'s Alex Froman fifth.
Super Late Model driver Doug Eck of Corry won his third feature of the season last week and is third in the standings. Chris Hackett, Corry, gained a spot moving to second while Warren's Dutch Davies leads.
Last weekend's Outlaw Cadet feature was rained out so the standings remain unchanged with Lakewood N.Y.'s Chad Carlson in the top spot.
Joe Buccola Jr., Falconer N.Y., is the Super Sportsman leader with Ben Burgess Jr. in the runner-up position.
Paul Nelson extended his Spectator lead after winning his third feature or the season last Saturday. Veteran Mike Moon, Brocton, N.Y., is second and North East's Gary Fisher is third.
The Super Challengers class suffered a fate much like the Outlaw Cadets last weekend with only the heat races being completed before the rains came.
As a result, the points standings remain largely unchanged.
Aaron Liberati, Busti N.Y., leads with Panama N.Y.'s Austin Karash just 27 points behind.
Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Saturday with racing getting underway at 7 p.m.
