Blood drive on Monday

July 30, 2011
The Times Observer

The Community Blood Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania will hold a blood drive from noon to 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at Holy Redeemer Center.

Walk-ins are welcome; no appointment is needed.

"We still have a month of summer," said Dan Desrochers, director of marketing, "and we're really struggling to get through it."

He said the recent shortage of types O and A blood is worsening as local patients continue to use more blood than is being donated at local blood drives.
