JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - With the top five teams seperated by just one game at the halfway point, the New York-Penn League's Pinckney Division is a mess.

All the Jammers can do is keep on winning and that's exactly what they did Wednesday with an 8-3 victory over the Aberdeen Ironbirds at Diethrick Park.

Using plenty of pop in a 12-hit attack, the Jammers (22-17) had little trouble with the Ironbirds (12-27) who are currently the worst team in the NYPL. The three-game series continues Thursday and concludes Friday with the Jamestown Falcons throwback night, celebrating the 70th anniversary of Diethrick Park.

Jamestown jumped out to a 1-0 lead in Wednesday's game by scoring in the bottom of the third. A Viosergy Rosa double set the table and Rosa eventually scored on an RBI single by Marquise Cooper. One of Jamestown's only hiccups of the night came in the top of the fourth when Aberdeen got a single, a hit batsman and a pair of walks in four consecutive at-bats to tie the game at 1-1.

The tie was shortlived as the Jammers' offense exploded for five runs in their half of the fourth. Terrence Dayleg led off with a hit and moved to third on a double by Josh Adams. With Kentrell DeWitt at the dish, Dayleg scored and Adams moved to third on an Ironbirds wild pitch.

Later in the inning, Rosa and Ryan Goetz drove home two runs each with RBI singles and Jamestown held a commanding 6-1 advantage.

Two Jamestown batters added their first career professional home runs in the game's late innings to give Jamestown some insurance. Designated hitter Austin Barnes sent a pitch over the left field fence in the seventh inning while the first baseman Rosa homered to deep center in the eighth.

Rosa was 4-for-4 with three RBI and three runs to lead the Jamestown offense. Barnes and Dayleg added two hits apiece and Goetz, Adams, DeWitt and Cooper chipped in one each.

Daniel Oliver started and pitched the first three and two-thirds for the Jammers, allowing one run on four hits.

Thomas Peale added two and one-third innings of hitless relief and earned the victory to improve to 3-1.
