Thursday, July 28 will be serving chef salads.

Tuesday, Aug. 2 will be turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, vegetable and dessert.
Thursday, Aug. 4 will be macaroni and cheese, stewed tomatoes, dessert.

Anyone can go and have lunch, cost is more for those who are under 60.
Summer Reading
Book a trip to the Tidioute Public Library on Friday, July 2 at 1 p.m.
This year a theme of "One World, Many Stories" and you are invited to come and participate in the activities.
Library hours are Mondays and Wednesdays from noon till 7 p.m., Fridays from 11:30 a.m. till 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. till 3 p.m.
Librarian Elizabeth Nicholson is more than happy to help you with all you library needs.

Golf Scramble
The Tenth Annual Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department Gold Scramble will be held this Saturday, July 30, at River Ridge Golf course. This is a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
Cost is $40 per person and this is a four person scramble.
There will be hot dogs, beverages and prizes at the golf course.

Senior Citizens Picnic
Those who attend the Tidioute Senior Center on a regular basis are planning a picnic for Thursday, Aug. 18 at noon.
Location will be at the home of Martha and Carl Walters on McCauley Hill Road.
Bus service will be provided.
All interested persons must call the senior center as soon as possible so they will know how many to plan for.
Call the Senior Center at 484-3020 on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday to make a reservation or for more information.
You may bring a dish to share if you would like to.
The only food that will be prepared at the Senior Center on Aug. 18 will be for the Meals On Wheels patrons.
Watson Township
Watson Township Supervisors reported road work has been completed on township roads and information regarding township roads with weight limit restrictions was reviewed.
The 1900 map of Warren County was discussed and it will be kept at the Watson Township Community Building.
Prints of the map will be available for purchase. Those interested should contact township secretary Sandy Kick.
Supervisors will be purchasing a riding lawn mower to maintain the grounds at the community building.
The next regular meeting will be held on Wednesday, Aug.17, at 7 p.m.
Mobile Food Pantry
The Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania will hold a mobile food pantry in Tidioute this Saturday, July 30.
It will begin at 10 a.m. at the Tidioute Firehall.
This distribution of groceries is for the residents of Tidioute and the surrounding area who are in need of food assistance. There is no pre sign-up, and participation is free.
Food will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. The mobile food pantry is sponsored by the Community Foundation of Warren County.
This site is sponsored by the Tidioute Lion's Club.
The only food bank in northwest Pennsylvania, Second Harvest is the major supplier of food to as network of 403 partner organizations that obtain products from this warehouse and distribute them to individuals and families facing hard times in 11 counties. The organizations include such emergency programs as food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, Kids Cafes, and weekend backpack Programs as well as non-emergency programs.
During fiscal year 2009-2010 Second Harvest distributed 7.7 million pounds of food to partner agencies, which in turn, provided food to 72,600 unduplicated recipients.
There will be a limited supply of boxes and bags available, please bring some if you have them.

Recycling Hours
For those who would like to help volunteer at the Lions Club Recycling Center the hours are from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on the first, second and fourth Tuesdays of the month and on the third Monday of the month.
This is a perfect opportunity for anyone who needs to do some community hours, credit will be given with verification of your hours that you helped.

Bass Tournament
Plans are underway for the Fifteenth Annual Glenn McKown Memorial Bass Tournament.
This year's team event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 10.
Hours will be from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and into the scales by 4 p.m., no exceptions.
Allowed waters are Kinzua tailwaters to the President's boat launch.
Using only artificial baits for smallmouth bass and a six-fish per boat limit.
All fish must be brought to the scales in a water-filled container.
Weigh-in will be held at the Tidioute Boat Launch.
Fee is $30 per boat with an optional lunker fee of $5.
Teams consists of two-man, couple, or adult/youth (under age 16).
There will be a participants picnic planned for after the weigh-in.
Information is being mailed to past fishermen.

W. W. II Reenactment
Plans are so underway for the Third Annual World War II Reenactment which will be held on Saturday, Aug. 6, at 3 p.m.
Tidioute Bridge will be closed as will Buckingham Street and King Street along with a short section of Rt. 62. The bridge will be closed from 2 till 4 p.m. as time will be needed to set the pyrotechnics for the simulation and the actual battle will begin at 3 p.m. along King Street and turn onto Buckingham Street to the bridge crossing Route 62 and up the hillside of Route 337.
There will be three tents of World War II memorabilia for sale at the encampment in Tippy Ball field.
The concession stand at the Tippy Ball field will be open with food, beverages and commemorative buttons for sale.
A table will also be set up for the sale of t-shirts on Friday and on Saturday they will also have a table near the veterans viewing stand along Buckingham Street on Saturday.
T-shirt sale proceeds will go towards the expense of Porta-pottys
Borough office is looking for donations of bottled water for the reenactors during the battle. Bottled water can be dropped at the borough office during business hours.
Commemorative
Buttons
Members of the VFW Post 8803 Ladies Auxiliary will be selling commemorative buttons depicting the WW II reenactment/Tidioute Bridge.
These buttons will cost $1 each and will be on sale at the concession stand at Tippy Ballfield on Friday and next to the veterans viewing stand on Saturday as well as at a table in front of the Veterans Memorial next to the VFW Post on Main St.
T-Shirts On Sale
T-Shirt commemorating the reenactment will be on sale at the concession stand in Tippy Ballfield on Friday and Saturday.
On Saturday the t-shirts will be on sale next to the veterans viewing stand on Buckingham Street.
Proceeds will benefit the committee with the cost of Port-potty's and advertising expenses and the Tidioute Area Little League.
Do not contact the borough office about t-shirt sales.
WW II Memorabilia
Members of the reenactors group will be selling all sorts of WW II memorabilia in three different tents with nationally known vendors at the encampment on both Friday and Saturday. Best times to visit the encampment is on Friday evening and between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
They are encouraging visitors to come and view their way of living back during the war. Take the opportunity to see the equipment and items they have on display and the sale items.
Chicken BBQ
Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament committee members will be holding a chicken barbecue on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 1noon till the chicken is gone.
With one-half of chicken you will receive macaroni salad, baked beans, and dinner roll.
This event is being held in conjunction with the WW II reenactment to raise money for the upcoming 52nd Annual Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament here in Tidioute on Sept. 22-25.
Volunteers Needed
Several volunteers are needed for traffic control on Saturday, Aug. 6 from approximately 1:30 till 4:30 p.m. this will be for the WW II reenactment.
You will be required to make sure the viewers stay behind the barricades and not be in the way of the reenactors.

Dice Run
The Sixth Annual Thunder In The Hoot Dice Run will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13.
Registration is from 10 a.m. to noon at the Tidioute Community Charter School.
Fee is $10 per bike and $10 for additional rider.
Food, entertainment and door prizes will be awarded following the run.
Prizes will be awarded for highest and lowest roll.
Starting at Tidioute Community Charter School and ending at Hotel Tidioute.

Basketball Camp
Tidioute Community Charter School will be offering a basketball camp on Aug. 1-4 for boys and girls going into grades 3 through 8 for the upcoming school year.
The camp will be held at TCCS. The cost is $20 per student and will include a t-shirt and towel.
Call the school at 484-3550 to pre-register your child and provide their shirt size. The girls will practice from 8 to 10 a.m. and the boys will practice from 10 a.m. to noon.
