Motor coach enforcement
Members of five State Police Troops, including Troop E, which covers Crawford, Erie, Venango and Warren Counties, participated in a weeklong effort focused on inspecting motor coaches. Frank E. Noonan, State Police Commissioner, said that although bus travel is one of the safest means of travel, recent tragic crashes have shed light on the need for attention. In addition to other troops' efforts, Troop E conducted five inspections, found one vehicle to be out of service, found one driver to be out of service, filed six citations, and gave four warnings.
At the monthly regular meeting of the Watson Township Supervisors Wednesday, supervisors reported road work has been completed on township roads and information regarding township roads with weight limit restrictions was reviewed. Those interested can contact township secretary Sandy Kick if interested. Supervisors will be purchasing a riding lawn mower to maintain grounds at the community building. The next regular meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 17.
