New playground equipment
D & C Recreation of Gary, Indiana was at the Tidioute Community Charter School Playground on Monday and began to install the new equipment.

Tidioute Lions Club would like to reach out to the community and ask for volunteers to help at the recycling center.

Due to health issues with many of their members, workers are badly needed.

If you can assist, please come to the recycling center the First, Second and Fourth Tuesday of the month from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. or anytime in between. Also, on the Third Monday of the Month from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Volunteers do not have to become members of the Lions Club just to help out.

Thank you in advance for your willingness to help this very important service to the community.

Everything else pertaining to the Golf Scramble will remain the same as it was.

Tidioute Library

Tidioute Library Board met last week and members voted unanimously that charges for any and all delinquent books and movies would be increased.

Starting Aug. 1 delinquent books will be charged $.10 per day and any delinquent movies will be charged $.25 a day.

Please keep in mind that Tidioute Public Library has an endowment fund. This endowment fund provides a permanent source of income for the Library. This is a wonderful way to remember a departed loved one, someone's special anniversary/birthday, or a way of saying thank you to someone.

Playground

equipment arrives

The new playground equipment for Tidioute Community Charter School has arrived and is being installed by D and C Recreation of Gary Indiana.

David Zinn and his crew will be here this week installing all the equipment before moving on to Texas for another playground.

Water alert

There appears to be some type of leak in the borough of Tidioute water system.

The water authority is asking customers to limit the amount of water used for watering gardens, lawns, filling pools, washing cars, etc. until the problem can be found and corrected.

Anyone who notices unusual wet areas on their property or have noticed a drop in water pressure recently should contact the borough office at 484-7424 with this information.

Portions of the water system may be shut off occasionally while the maintenance crew is trying to isolate and ultimately repair the leak.

Your cooperation with this issue is greatly appreciated.

Supervised

playground

The Summer Supervised Playground is still in session at the Tidioute Charter School.

There are several activities happening at the playground area and is not being interfered with by the new playgoung equipment.

Most activities take place at the basketball court and the area between the basketball court and the door leading to the elementary section of the school.

Playground hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Supervisor is Jessica Shaw and she has several ideas for those who are attending.

If attendance is low this year, there may not be a supervised playground next year. So please support this program in Tidioute so we can keep it going.
