Friends of the Brokenstraw Valley Swimming Pool have reached just over $75,000 in their capital fund raising campaign. They have been very pleased with the donations and pledges to date, yet are still short of their goal and still waiting on a number of local business to send in their pledge/donation. Thank you to ALL who have donated. The pool is open this year because of your generosity and will continue to be for years to come.
They have a number of fun things planned at the pool, please check their Face book page for dates and information, Friends of the BVSP. There is also a announcement board posted inside the pool. Tonight they are having a LUAU 6:30-9:30 p.m. Please join in for games, prizes, food and fun. Admission for Luau is same as daily rates: Adults $5 and Students $4. Mark you calendar for Friday July 22, 6-10 p.m. for 'Concert on the Hill', a fundraiser for BVSP. Featuring two opening local bands followed by Jack The Dog, corn hole tournament, food and fun!!!

Class of '56
The YHS Class of 56 will be having their 55th class reunion at Richards Restaurant on Saturday, July 9, at 1 p.m. Keith Oviatt will be taking the class on a tour of the Wilder museum at 10:30 a.m. for those who wish to do so.
Pleasures & Treasures
The 20th Anniversary of Pleasures & Treasures Countryside Folk Art Faire is this Saturday, July 9, at the Warren County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Craft vendors, food, entertainment and contests are planned for an amusing day.
New to the 2011 show, Gwen Hebner will bring several of her Macaw's to entertain and delight all visitor's, she will also be selling flowers made from their feathers.
There will be Constables to direct traffic for those of you that are concerned about the detour. Don't miss this 2011 show.
Community supper
The monthly community dinner will be Tuesday, July 12th, from 4-6:00 p.m. at St. Francis Church. The menu is pulled pork sandwiches, macaroni salad, and ice cream sundaes. This is a free dinner open to anyone in the community. Carry outs available after 5:45 only. Donations are accepted. Our youth group is helping out by cooking the food. It is a new thing at St. Francis, but they are very active in helping out the community. They did painting up to Chapman Dam, and are now down in Georgia helping the tornado victims there. Although still small in numbers they are big in heart.
YHS Alumni
Join the Youngsville High School Alumni Tureen Picnic, July 12th at noon, YHS school Cafeteria, and you may tour the school after lunch.
A Wilder evening
The Wilder Museum will be hosting it's annual 'Warren County Tales' with Karen and Mark Davis at 6:30 on Thursday, July 21st. The event will kick off with a chicken barbecue starting at 5. Advance tickets for $8 are available at the Warren County Historical Society and Allegheny Artistry Co-op (call Joanne at 814/563-4286) or $8.50 that evening. Meals are 'Take out or Eat in'. The evening will also include Live Patriotic Music, Silent Auction, Chinese Auction, and a Dessert Bar. For more information visit www.warrenhistory.org or call 814/723-1795. The Wilder Museum, located at 51 Erie Avenue in Irvine, is open for the summer, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Up, up and away
On July 23 the Rouse will be hosting tethered hot air balloon rides. The rides will be open to the public from 7 pm to 9 pm. The cost will be $5 per person. This fun event will be held in Friendship Park (between the Rouse Home & Rouse Manor). Parking will be available in the field across the road (weather permitting) & in the Rouse Home employee parking lot. Please join us for this exciting evening & enjoy a ride in the sky!! Library Fundraiser
The Youngsville Public Library is joining with Avon to raise money for the library general expenses. Local Avon representative, ReeAnn Devore, and Avon are generously channeling 40 percent of all prepaid Avon purchases from the campaign 18 booklet (or older campaign 16 & 17 booklets) to the library.
Avon books will be available at the library table at Richard's Restaurant on July 5 and July 8, at the library booth at Pleasure's & Treasures on July 9, and at the circulation desk of the library anytime. Only orders placed through the library or ReeAnn Devore (563-9425 or rad36@verizon.net ) by Friday, July 15, will quality for this fundraiser. Be sure to mention the library if you email or call in your order! All orders will be ready for pick-up at the library on Tuesday, July 26. Checks should be made payable to the Youngsville Public Library.
The library will also be hosting an "Avon at the Library Party" on July 12, from 7-8:30 PM. Everyone is invited to come enjoy the free refreshments, see samples of the latest Avon products, win prizes and visit the library for the evening. Come see what Avon and the library have to offer and help out this great community asset.
