Rita Marie Scalise of Warren and Samuel Miller Thomas of McKean have announced their engagement. She is the daughter of Frederick and Margherita Scalise, Warren. He is the son of Marion and the late Samuel Thomas of McKean. A Sept. 1, 2012, wedding is planned at Saint Joseph Church, Warren.
