This past December, by firelight in a little log cabin located in the Blue Ridge foothills of North Carolina, Jacob Campbell, son of Garry and Sandy Campbell of Russell, serenaded his princess, Vanessa Labbato, to the sweet and fitting Keith Urban song, "My Last Name." Vanessa, daughter of Cecelia and the late Daniel Labbato, Boca Raton, Fla., accepted Jacob's proposal, being swooned by his love rather than his singing.
Jacob and Vanessa are planning a December wedding to be held this year in the Akeley United Methodist Church. They will live in south Florida where Jacob works and where Vanessa attends college. Jacob works on a tactical team for the Boca Raton Police Department where he was recently selected as Officer of the Year and was named Employee of the Year for the city of Boca Raton. Vanessa is currently taking classes required for the registered nursing program at Palm Beach State College.
