Senior menu
Thursday, June 16 will be sloppy joes, potatoes, dessert and beverages.

Prior to lunch some of those who are attending gather to play bingo, cards or just come and visit.
Farmer's Market
For those age 60 and over, you can sign up for Farmer's Market vouchers.
Vouchers will be at the Tidioute Senior Center on Thursday, June 23 and can be picked up from 9 a.m. till 11 a.m.
Household requirements are for one person the annual income is $20,147.
Family of two income of $27,214; a family of three is $34,218.
Sign up was last week at the center.

Birthday calendar
Russell Glen and Casey Parker are now in charge of the Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament Birthday Calendars.
They will soon be coming around to the merchants to get their ads from those businesses who are interested in an ad on the calendar.

Watson Grange
Members of the Watson Grange #1068 met on Thursday, June 9 for their regular meeting and Open House.
Following the opening ceremony and roll call of officers the Lecturer presented her program of the evening.
They opened with a poem about our American Flag then an alphabet game, bird quiz, a skit about an airplane ride, another poem "Only Right To Give Back", a Skit on a patient and finished with a poem on "Success".
Members with twenty-five years of services were announced they are Ann Snavley, Beulah McAfoose, Mike Edmiston, and Roger Winkels.
Members with fifty years of service were Judy Martin and Dan Edmiston. Judy was present and received a 50 year pin and certificate.
The Subordinate Grange Community Citizens Service Award was presented to Linda Scott for outstanding service to this community and mankind and her personal involvement are greatly and sincerely acknowledged by the members of Watson Grange No. 1068".
Kelly VanOrd reported that the Junior Grange members only have five more meetings before the Warren County Fair.
They are looking for both male and female members under the age fourteen.
Craft night was discussed and will be held on Monday, June 20 at the home of Alice Weaver at 6:30 p.m.
Deanna Hollabaugh reported on the things the Grange as done over the past year which included a monetary donation to the community food baskets, Toys for Tots, food items for the Salvation Army Food Bank, cleaning of the Lenhart Cemetary and placed flags on the Military graves-they have been doing this for over 50 years. They helped two families in need.
Upcoming events include adopting a section of highway that they will be responsible for cleaning up, collecting glass for the dime pitch during fishing tournament, and the essay project.
They still have lottery calendars for sale at a cost of $20 each, numbers will be paid that have already hit.
Matt Irons reported on Youth Lock In held on April 1 they were in from 12 noon on April 1 till 12 noon on April 2.
This year Youth Camp is set for the first week of July.
Looking for new faces. Any one wishing to become a member of the Junior Grange or the Subordinate Grange (for Adults) should contact any member of the Grange. Some families to contact would be John and Deanna Hollabaugh, Matt and Miranda Irons, Bob and Jean Hollabaugh, Rob and Mary Jane Burris, Kelly Van Ord, Judy Martin, or Alice Weaver just to name a few. Amanda and Stephanie Burris are members of the Junior Grange if your children are interested in joining.
Family Festival set for July 14 till July 17 at Centre County Fair Grounds. Some of the topics will be ATV Safety and a Tubing Trip down the river.
Medical Center meeting
There will be of the Tidioute Area Health and Dental Center, Inc at which time an election of officers will be conducted.
This meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 21, at 7 p.m. at ST John Center.
All members are urged to attend.
Citizens Service Award
Members of the Watson Grange chose Linda Scott as the recipient of the Grange Community Citizens Service Award.
The Subordinate Grange Community Citizens Service Award was presented to Linda Scott on Thursday, June 9, 2011 which read "In recognition of outstanding service to this community and mankind. Her dedication and personal involvement are greatly and sincerely acknowledged by the members of Watson Grange No. 1068" and signed by Master Bob Hollabaugh and Lecturer-Mary Jane Burris of Watson Grange and by Edward L. Luttrell-Master of National Grange and Pete Pompper-Lecturer of National Grange. Scott was also presented with a marble paper weight with the Grange Emblem on the top.
Watson Grange members expressed their thanks for all she does in getting out the news of their Grange activities and other events of Tidioute area in a timely fashion.
VFW Auxiliary
VFW Post 8803 Ladies Auxiliary presented their Citizenship Awards to Amanda Burris and Benjamin Reed during graduation ceremonies.
The Awards were presented by Doris Svitek, president of the auxiliary.
Hometown Pharmacy
Chris Darling is a 1997 graduate of Duquesne University School of Pharmacy. He began to work for Crone's Drug Store in Warren in May 01 1997 and took over ownership in 2005.
Darling was appointed to the National Independent Advisory Board of McKesson Corp in 2006, and also serves on the Board of Directors of Independent Pharmacy Cooperative as head of the Governance Committee.
A lifelong resident of Warren, PA an avid outdoorsman, runner, husband and father of three children. He stated that, " I Appreciated the opportunity to operated a store in the beautiful town of Tidioute and need your support to help make this venture a success."
The pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. till 6 p.m. with free delivery.
There are two pharmacist and two pharmacy technicians available to assist you in your pharmacy needs with prescriptions and several over the counter items available.
A rather large turn out at the Grand Opening held on June 3 was greeted by several staff members from the Tidioute store as well as employees from the Crone's in Warren.
Reusable gift bags with hand Sanitizer and lotion were given out to everyone who stopped.
Hot dogs were grilled and served with all the trimmings, pop, chips and cake topped off the meal.
Tom Walker and Jonathan Campbell, both commercial lenders representing Northwest Savings Bank as well as several committee members of the Tidioute Area Health and Dental Center, Inc were present for this Grand Opening.

On Sunday, June 19 there will be an open house and farewell gathering at the Tionesta United Methodist Church for the Rev. Dennis Lawton.
This will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
VBS meeting
There will be an organizational meeting for Vacation Bible School on Thursday, June 23 at 7 p.m. at the Tidioute First United Methodist.
Anyone interested in helping is welcome to attend and share your thoughts and ideas.
The theme this year is "Pandaroma"
Vacation Bible School
This year Vacation Bible School will be held from July 11 through July 15 at the First United Methodist Church.
This will be every evening Monday Friday from 5 p.m. till 7 p.m.
Helpers are needed, please contact Linda Reese if you can and would like to help.
Borough Council
Chief of Police, Steve Vincent reported traveling 596 miles and had fourteen incidents and six charges were filed.
Letters were sent out concerning the high grass within the borough limits.
Residents and visitors are reminded to lock you vehicles when you are not in them, there has been and high rate of thefts around the county and Tidioute is no exception. So Please lock your vehicles.
Borough Manager Walt Snavley reported that the police car is still having problems and it looks like we can still get available money to match what the borough has towards a new patrol car.
The floating dock has been put back in the river at the boat launch.
Conservation Day went well, a lot of things were completed.
McCauley Hill Road needs some serious work done on it.
Fran Stoneburg, Recreation committee member, reported that there are three baseball teams playing ball this year. The children in age group of twelve to fourteen did not have enough team members for a team so three of them went to Pleasantville to play. The Pleasantville team is in need of some aluminum bats since that age group cannot use wooden bats. These will cost $100. It was approved to have the recreation committee send the $100 requested.
There was quite the discussion on the property at one Elm ST and placing it on the Blighted Property list. Fran Stoneburg will look into the ownership of the property and who is paying the taxes.
Donations are still needed for the Summer Supervised Playground are still needed, donations can be sent to the Tidioute Borough Office, 174 Main ST, Tidioute, PA 16351, please mark it for the supervised playground.
