Project Ignition
The Youngsville High School, in conjunction with Project Ignition, held an assembly with speakers, movies and a mock funeral, all to create awareness that drinking and driving are illegal.

Garage Sale Days

Numerous garage and yard sales will be held throughout Eldred Township on Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 a.m. Follow Route 6 to Route 27 South to the farming community of Sanford. Maps are available at sale locations, along with food and drinks.

5K run

The Missions group of Otterbein United Methodist Church will be hosting the 1st Annual Miles for Missions 5K run and Fun Walk on Saturday, June 4th starting at 10:00 a.m., with registration from 8:30-9:30. The monies from the run will be used this year the help fund a trip to Haiti this September. Registration for the race is $15.00 for all participants if postmarked before May 23rd, $18.00 late registration by mail or on day of race. The race will start and end at Otterbein UMC and the course will be relatively flat. T-Shirts will be guaranteed to the first 100 entrants but size can only be guaranteed if the entry form is received by May 23rd. Class of '66

The Youngsville High School Class of 1966 will meet at Richards Restaurant for lunch on Saturday, June 4 at 12 noon. Questions call 814/563-4042.

The Brokenstraw Valley Swimming Pool needs a logo. The Youngsville Recreation Commission is sponsoring a logo contest for students in grades 6-12. Design a logo for the pool on an 8.5 x 11-inch paper and bring it to the borough office by June 20. Make sure your name, grade, and phone number are on the back.

Youngsville Borough reminds all residents to keep their grass cut to no higher than 6". Also, please keep your grass clippings out of the street and off of the sidewalks. This is for the safety of our pedestrians, as well as the upkeep of our storm drains.

Strawberry

Shortcake Festival

A strawberry shortcake/ice cream social will be held Sunday, June 19 from 4 - 6 p.m. at the Youngsville First United Methodist Church. Weather permitting, it will be outside.

Bring your father and all the family and cool off with a treat while you visit with friends. Donations will be cheerfully accepted.

The Promotion Committee for the Revitalization of Youngsville announces an addition to the business district in downtown Youngsville. The Allegheny Artistry/ Local Artist's Co-Op at 106 East Main St. will be opening a Consignment Store featuring Folk Art, Crafts, Candy, and unique resale items. Relay for Life

Youngsville Elementary Middle School will again this year have a team consisting of teachers, staff and their families represented at Warren County's Relay For Life. The theme at the event this year is 'Wish Upon a Cure'. Each team has chosen a Disney theme for their camp site. YEMS has chosen Goofy. We are selling raffle tickets to win a peddle powered ride in truck for $1 a chance. We will also be selling lap trackers again this year during the event.
