Freight train strikes, kills 22-year-old Pa. man

SEWARD, Pa. (AP) — Authorities are looking into the death of a pedestrian who was hit by a freight train in western Pennsylvania.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports ( ) the 22-year-old victim died early Sunday near Seward.

Public safety officials in Westmoreland County say the train struck the man around 1 a.m. in St. Clair Township.

Authorities have not yet released the victim's identity, but they say he was from neighboring Somerset County.

Westmoreland County Coroner Ken Bacha says preliminary information indicates the man had attended a wedding the previous evening.
