Quality of Place

A group for Youngsville's future met to discuss arts in the region.

Suzanne Gagliardo, manager for Community Development with the Northwest Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission, discussed organization and encouraged Youngsville to 'lead the charge' on the program. She reviewed the art resources in Oil City as an example of what can be done in Warren County.

Suggestions for making an overlay of the county would be the next step, along with finding banking support, and partnering with local realtors to attract artists and develop vacant properties.

George Newark, coordinator for PA Route 6 Artisan Trail, reviewed other locations on the Heritage Route 6 and PA Wilds trails. He suggested partnering will all the arts, defining artists, crafters, amateurs, professionals, and performing arts.

This is a group made up of the Regional Art Council, Heritage Route 6, PA Wilds, Artisan Trails, and the Regional Main Street program. Terry Dennison has been working with ROY on the ceremonial entranceway to Youngsville. Dave Poulin will be working on a children's project. This is a large join effort to promote Warren County and the arts, which in turn brings business and tourism to the area.
