Warren County Special Olympics
Warren County Special Olympics is practicing track & field every Monday and Wednesday nights starting May 2 at War Memorial Field from 6 to 7 p.m. Track & field will continue until June 1, with final competition on June 6. We need volunteers to run stop watches, use measuring tapes, record scores or just cheer for everyone. Consider volunteering in 2011 in one of our many sports programs and meet a great group of people. Time spent helping Special Olympics counts toward community service hours for your school, church or scouting project. Golden Living
Center Kinzua
If you would like to volunteer several hours a week, we welcome you to join our dedicated team at Golden Living Center - Kinzua, 205 Water St. No experience is necessary. All you need is a desire to help our residents achieve an enjoyable quality of life. Some of the volunteer opportunities include: assisting with bingo, distributing mail to residents, assisting with crafts, helping with parties, reading to residents and helping them write letters. We are also always in need of individuals willing to share their talents, whether it be entertainment (singing, dancing, playing an instrument, etc.), or displaying your hobby. At the Rouse
Spring is finally here and the Rouse Home has many special projects in the works. Volunteers would be appreciated to clean up resident outdoor areas and gardens, weed and plant flowers. Residents also enjoy getting outside for a walk or wheel around the courtyard. Other volunteer opportunities include:
The dogwood room snack bar on the third Saturday of each month from 1 to 4 p.m.
Beauty shop transporters on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 8:30 to 11 a.m.
Visitors, according to resident and volunteer schedules, pet visits, pets are required to have updated vaccinations and a copy of this must be provided.

Helping kids
Become a CASA volunteer and be rewarded with some of the most powerful and fulfilling experiences you can find. CASA is the only organization that empowers everyday citizens as appointed "friends of the court". Volunteers fit well with the court as the American Justice System is built on juries; a body of citizens sworn to give a true verdict according to the evidence presented in a court of law. In 1990 with the inclusion of the CASA Program in the Victims of Child Abuse Act, Congress affirmed the use of volunteers in our otherwise closed juvenile court systems and made provisions for the growth of our volunteer movement nationwide. Locally CASA of Warren and Forest Counties has 23 volunteers serving 23 children. Your involvement will make a direct impact on a child's life and perhaps generations to come. CASA of Warren and Forest Counties welcomes volunteers from all cultures, professions, ethnic and educational backgrounds. Toy Shoppe Decorative Painters- The RSVP Toy Shoppe is in need of some decorative painters. Those interested may contact the RSVP office at 723-7751
Allegheny Community Center- The ACC is in need of hostesses. These volunteers will greet people in the dining area with a warm friendly demeanor. Interested volunteers may contact the ACC at 723-4180.
American Cancer Society- Road to Recovery drivers are in great need. The drivers are responsible for transporting cancer patients to various hospitals for treatment. Some are local trips and others are for appointments in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Buffalo. Drivers must go through training and certification before they can drive. This includes a background check, forms to be completed and training sessions. If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity please contact the RSVP at (814)723-7751
Library Theatre- Volunteers are needed to help with front office duties. Office duties include answering the phone, selling theater tickets, filing papers, etc. Available hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m.. to 5 p.m. Hours are flexible. Call the RSVP office if interested.
Warren County Visitors Bureau Greeters are needed Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4p.m. Times and days can be chosen that work best for the volunteer.
Crary Home- Looking for a volunteer to help assist residents with simple book keeping at the volunteer's convience.
Bi-Lingual Communicator- Snyder Memorial is looking for a Spanish speaking volunteer who would be willing to spend a couple hours a day translating for a resident. Hours would be flexible according to the volunteer's schedule.
Warren County Assistance Office- Looking to have someone come approximately two days per week for one to two hours for general office work (shredding, stuffing packets, filing, running mail through the mail machine, etc).

Warren General
A variety of opportunities are available in the Warren General Hospital Volunteer family.
Window Box Cafe: Table servers needed for breakfast and lunch. Work a two-hour shift in our cozy restaurant. This is a wonderful opportunity for friendly people who enjoy interaction and conversation with others.
Imaging Escort: Transport patients to and from their rooms by wheelchair or stretcher for x-rays, sonograms and other screening. These volunteers work closely with nursing and imaging staff. This position calls for an active and compassionate volunteer. Shifts vary from two to four hours.
Emergency Care Center Ambassador: These volunteers assist in our busy emergency room. They greet people as they enter the hospital, direct patients to registration, escort patients, communicate to the family as directed by staff, and generally provide concern, understanding and a listening ear for patients and their families.
Lifeline Installer: Learn to install home telephone equipment used in emergency situations. Installers drive throughout Warren County to serve our Lifeline clients. These volunteers help at-risk people to continue to live independently in their own homes. Mileage is reimbursed upon request.
Reception Desks: The hospital is always looking for volunteers for our outpatient, inpatient and one-day surgery desks. Duties vary but may include answering the telephone, greeting the public, delivering newspapers, mail or flowers and transporting patients by wheelchair.

Red Cross
Could you save a loved one in the event of an emergency? What if you had that opportunity to make a difference in somebody's life? Would you do it? The Warren County Chapter of the American Red Cross wants to give you that chance! We are looking for highly motivated individuals interested in becoming volunteer instructors in first aid/CPR/AED. You can make a difference. Your training could save a life. We need instructors who can teach day or evening ommunity courses, workplace classes and presentations. Suites at Rouse
The Suites at Rouse, Personal Care Home has a newly established volunteer program. We are looking for volunteers age 11 and older to assist us with the many activities provided at the Suites. We are seeking volunteers to assist with games, arts and crafts, music, religious services, reading, trips to various locations and activities, and much more. If you can help out for one hour or several hours, your time and talents will be greatly appreciated. In addition, we are in need of assistance with special events that are held annually at the Suites.

Friends of Youngsville Library
Friends of Youngsville Public Library need volunteers to help with programs and community events. Activities include baking cookies, reading to preschool children, assisting children with story hour crafts, assembling envelopes for mailings, helping with the annual book sale, distributing fliers, creating raffle baskets, and creating displays.
