Corry tops week’s scholastic trap

It was crowded at the top once again during Warren County Scholastic Trap League competition on Tuesday.

Corry had the top team score with 166, followed by Youngsville with 165, Sheffield with 164 and Warren Blue with 163. Three of those four teams earned wins in the league's fifth week with the exception being Youngsville whose score came on its bye week.

The Beavers took the lead in the season standings with nine team points. Two points are given for a team win with one point given for each tie. Youngsville and Sheffield share second with eight points, Warren Blue is fourth with five points, Warren White fifth with four points, Eisenhower sixth with two points and Tidioute seventh with zero points.

Corry was a 166-163 winner over Warren White this week. Dillen Miller, Cale Morse, Kyle Dahl, Jamie Morton and Braden McClain all shot 24's for the winners. Warren White was led by the perfect 25's of Drew Williams and Nathan Kupchella.

Sheffield downed Eisenhower, 164-160. Noah Heeter led the Wolverines with a perfect score of 25 while the Knights got 24's from Zack Johnson and Ron Kepple.

The week's other match was Warren Blue against Tidioute with the Dragons claiming a 163-129 victory. Nate Tenney had a perfect score for Warren Blue while Jacob Moore's 23 was tops for Tidioute.

Youngsville got 25's from Dillon Hahn and Sam Lucas to finish the bye week with 165 points.
