Undefeated Corry jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the top of the first en route to a 16-1 four-inning victory over Warren on Wednesday at Hawbaker Field.

Warren (0-5) scored its lone run in the third. Jaimie Eaton got on on a single and Kaitlin Ishman drove her home with a triple. Kristin Hultquist recorded a double in the second inning, Warren's only other hit in the contest.

"They're strong," said Warren coach Mark Bupp of Corry, which is 10-0 overall and in first place in Region 6. "They did a great job and hit the ball hard. We need to realize we need to work harder" to get things straightened out.

CURWENSVILLE - Curwensville has long been one of the best Class A softball teams in District 9.

On Wednesday, they showed Sheffield exactly why that is.

The Golden Tide scored 34 runs in two outings on Wednesday, sweeping a doubleheader from the Lady Wolverines, 15-0 and 19-3.

The Golden Tide's leadoff hitter Taylor Goodman was 4-for-4 in the first game of the twinbill, smacking a double, triple and two home runs. All told, the hosts had 13 hits and needed just four innings to win the contest. Sheffield was held hitless in the opener.

The Wolverines offense had more success in the second game of the night, plating three runs on six hits. Hannah Vile and Brooke Hoffman each had two singles for Sheffield and Kerrin Swartz and Kristie Steffan added one hit each.

Unfortunately for the Wolverines, the Golden Tide's offense was also better in the second game as Curwensville scored 19 runs and again ended the game early after four innings.

Sheffield (0-7) has another doubleheader scheduled for Thursday when they play at Kane Area High School.
