3 Red Cross
CLEARFIELD, Pa. (AP) - Three American Red Cross chapters in north-central Pennsylvania will merge in a move the organization hopes will save more than $100,000 a year.
The consolidation involves chapters covering Clearfield-Jefferson counties, Elk-Cameron counties and DuBois. The new combined chapter to be based in DuBois will be re-named the PA Heartland chapter.
Red Cross officials said this week the money saved will be used to focus more on community services, such as educating families on preparing for emergencies.
