No charges filed
in fatal crash
EXTON, Pa. (AP) - Authorities in suburban Philadelphia say no charges will be filed against the driver of a delivery truck that struck and killed two people last month.
Police in Uwchlan Township in Chester County say the truck was heading south on Route 100 when it struck the two at about 5:21 a.m. on March 19.
Authorities say 23-year-old Marqui Mobley-Francis and 16-year-old India Cooper were killed.
The Chester County district attorney's office says the truck driver stopped and cooperated with authorities. They say the truck was traveling in its own lane and below the posted speed limit, and there was no evidence the driver was impaired, so authorities have concluded that no charges are warranted.
Teen shot
over cigarette
PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pittsburgh police say a 32-year-old man shot a teenage girl in the knee after she refused to lend him her last cigarette.
Lamarr Marshall remained in the Allegheny County Jail Wednesday on aggravated assault and weapons possession charges.
Police didn't identify the 16-year-old victim but say Marshall encountered the girl in the city's crime-ridden Homewood neighborhood about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police say a witness saw Marshall shoot the victim, who police interviewed at a hospital. She's expected to fully recover.
