Bear harvest down
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Wildlife officials say Pennsylvania's 2010 bear harvest was down slightly from last year but still ranks as the fifth-largest in state history.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission says hunters took 3,090 bears last year, including 269 taken in the new five-day statewide archery season.
That total is down from the 3,512 taken last year. The harvest is the lowest since 2007.
