The local unemployment rate fell again in February, this time by .3 percent.
Warren County's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased from 7.2 in January to 6.9 in February, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry's Center for Workforce Information and Analysis.
The unemployment rate in December 2010 was 7.9 percent.
The number of people in the labor force increased from 21,700 in January to 21,800 in February. The number of those unemployed dropped by 100.
According to the center, gains were reported throughout the non-farm, good producing, trade, transportation, utilities, information, financial activities, education and health services and government sectors. Professional and business services showed a decline while the leisure and hospitality sector remained flat.
The current county unemployment rate is down from the 8.3 percent recorded in February 2010.
Warren County's unemployment rate is now the lowest in the region. Forest County reported the second lowest percentage with 7.0, followed by Crawford County and Venango County at 7.7, 7.9 in Erie County, and 10.1 in Clarion County.
The unemployment rate across the state is 8.0 percent, and the national percentage is 8.9 percent.
