Local seniors plan busy week

Lunches

The Warren-Forest Area Agency on Aging will serve the following menu at Allegheny Community Center and other Warren-Forest centers April 11-15: stuffed shells Monday, Swedish meatballs Tuesday, chicken and biscuits Wednesday, goulash Thursday, and shepard's pie Friday. Locations at Marienville, Sheffield, Tidioute and Endeavor will serve menus from Monday, Tuesday and Friday for the three-day sights. Eligible participation is 60 years and older with a suggested donation of $3. Call 723-3763 for information regarding congregate meal sites or center locations. Menu is subject to change based on availability.

We are raffling off two Easter baskets and tickets are available for 3/$1. Drawing is on April 18 so you will have goodies for Easter.

Volunteer week is April 10-16 and we will honor all the wonderful volunteers here at the center.

The first fund raiser of the year will be on April 26 and we will have chicken&biscuit dinner for a donation only. Dinner will be served from 4:30-6:30 with takeouts available.

This is the last week you have to schedule an appointment with the VITA tax preparers this season. They are available at ACC until April 18 for free by appointment only. Call 723-3237 or 723-4180 to make your appointment.

Enjoy some delicious homemade baked goods from the ACC Bake Sale on Friday, April 15 sponsored by the ACC Auxiliary. They will be open for business at 10 a.m. in the dining room and remain open until everything is gone! So, plan to shop early!

Enjoy ACC's new extended hours of operation on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and regular hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Daily lunches require a 24-hour-in-advance reservation by calling 230-7222. The new Bistro Meals featuring soup, salad and a specialty sandwich or wrap are available on Thursdays in addition to the regular lunch menu. No reservation required for these meals. They will be offered from 10am-1pm every Thursday. Take-outs are available, too.

During the winter months, the Center will be closed whenever area schools are closed. The announcement of closures and non-delivery of meals-on-wheels is provided on the local radio station along with local school closures.
