Lenten lunch
Today lunch will be served at the First United Methodist Church beginning at 11:30.
They will be furnishing a sandwich bar with macaroni salad. Also included will be chips and beverages.

Bingo tonight
Tidioute Fire Department is holding Bingo tonight at the firehall with the doors opening at 5 p.m. early bird will start at 6 p.m. and regular bingo games will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Banking week
Northwest Savings, Tidioute Branch invites the community members to stop by the bank located at 5 Buckingham ST and join the staff in celebrating Community Banking week.
Week-long events include refreshments, coloring contests, Northwest give-a-ways and collecting of items to be sent to local military personnel stationed overseas.
KofC
Members of the Tidioute Knights of Columbus at ST John Church will meet Thursday evening April 7 at 7:30 p.m.at ST John Center.
All members are urged to attend and pick up their calendars to buy or sell.
Skating party
Tidioute Community Charter School skating party at "The Rink" will be on Thursday, April 7 and May 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Round trip bus service will be available on a first come first serve basis and the bus will depart TCCS at 5:45 p.m. and arrive back in Tidioute at approximately 9 p.m.
There is no cost to ride the bus.
Lottery calendars
The ST John's Knights of Columbus have the Knights of Columbus calendars again this year.
A donation of $25 is needed to receive a calendar and they are good for one year, running June 1 to May 31, 2012.
There are 365 chances to "Win".
All proceeds go to the Erie Diocese Charities and are ear marked for the Bishop's Youth Ministries Program.
This is the Knights most popular fund raiser because they have so many winners. Winners are based on the PA Daily Lottery PM drawing only.
All numbers played straight as drawn.

Ladies Guild
There will be a Saint John Ladies Guild meeting on Tuesday, April 12 at 7 p.m. at the ST John Center. Guild members are urged to attend.
Holy Week
Mass at ST John will be on Saturday, April 16 at 4:30 and at ST Anthony Church at 6:30 p.m. Confessions will be one half hour prior to Mass times.
Student activity
There will be a Student Activity Meeting (SAC) on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in the Tidioute Community Charter School library.
Bogo Book Fair
Students at Tidioute Community Charter School are excited about the upcoming Book Fair the week of April 11 to the 15.
This family event is set for Wednesday, April 13 from 4p.m. to 8 p.m.
In conjunction with the Bogo Book Fair, on Wednesday, April 13, each student in K-4 through grade six will be able to select two books from the Book Fair to take home.
Make up days
Due to school cancellations for inclement weather, Tidioute Community Charter School students will have school on Wednesday, April 20 and Thursday, April 21.
Easter break will be Friday, April 22 through Monday, April 25. Students will return to school on Tuesday, April 26.
Soup Cook-Off
The annual soup cook-off was held on Sunday at Tippy Canoe with the following winners.
There were three different categories this year. Traditional Soup winners were Eb Kinter in First Place, and in Second Place was Gail McCracken. Specialty Soup First Place was Shelly Kershner, Second Place was Jeannie Byerley, and in the Potato Soup First Place went to Bob Fath and Second Place went to John Giltiman.
There was an excellent turn out with 21 entries.
Spaghetti dinner
A Spaghetti Dinner to benefit the Senior Class will be held on Thursday, April 14 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at TCCS .
Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children age 2 to 12 and children under two is free.
Mother/Daughter
Banquet
This year the Mother/Daughter Banquet will be held in Tidioute at the First United Methodist Church.
The date is set for Tuesday, May 3 at 6 p.m.
Those wishing to attend need to contact Linda Scott at 484-7525 to reserve your seating. Organizers will need to know the number of people in your group to assure that you are seated together.
Meat, potatoes, rolls and beverages will be provided as well as table service.
Family members are asked to bring a tureen to share.
Donuts
Student Activity Council at Tidioute Community Charter School is now taking orders for Krispy Kreme Donuts.
This is the sixth annual sale that will benefit grades K-4 through grade 12.
Delivery will be in time for Easter holiday break.
All monies raised will go toward student field trips in the spring.

Calendar party
Each year the Yearbook committee and advisors Kelley McKean and Ryan Guerra hold a calendar party as a fund raiser.
A table is decorated for each month of the year and there are activities and foods that represent that month.
Several door prizes donated by local businesses are given away during the evening.
This year the event is being held on Friday, April 15. To donate door prizes or purchase a ticket call Kelley at 484-3550.
Letter of interest
Tidioute Community Charter School's letter of interest registration period for the upcoming 2011-2012 school year began on March 1.
Parents interested in having their children attend the Tidioute Community Charter School (TCCS) are asked to fill out a letter of interest packet which is available at the school office or on the TCCS website at tidioutecharter.com and return it to the office.
Students in grades K-4 through grade 12 in Warren County, Forest County and Crawford County are eligible to attend Tidioute Charter School at no cost with busing provided.
There is a limited number of openings for the upcoming school year so parents are urged to register as soon as possible.
Students already attending Tidioute Charter School do not need to re-register.

Turkey Party
Members of the Watson Grange will host a Turkey Party on Saturday, April 16 at the Watson Grange Hall. This is open to the public.
Easter Egg hunt
Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament committee members will be holding the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 23 at 10 a.m. at Tippy Ballfield.
50/50 Raffle
Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament committee members are selling tickets for a 50/50 raffle.
Tickets are $1 each and the drawing will be on Saturday, April 23 at the Easter Egg Hunt.
Winner need not be present to win. Call Butch Glenn at 484-1234 for tickets or contact other committee members.
Patriotic Art Award
VFW Post 8803 and its Ladies Auxiliary members sponsored the Young Peoples Patriotic Art Awards and Chairperson Fran Stoneburg and the committee is proud to announce the winners.
Taylor McMillen of New Bethlehem, who is a 17-year-old senior at Redbank Valley Jr/Sr High School was chosen first place winner with her pencil sketch of a father showing his patriotism when he sacrifices not being home to provide for his family. The sketch shows him going off to war to defend our nation against all foreign and domestic enemies. He leaves his family and unborn child. His son shows respect as he salutes his father.
McMillen will receive a check for $150 from the ladies auxiliary.
Honorable mention certificates were presented to Sara Dorsey of Youngsville High School, Selese Huth of West Forest High School, Loren Ohler of Tidioute Community Charter School and Benjamin Reed also of Tidioute Community Charter School.
Art work was judged by local artist Luke Morgan.
Each artist had to give a description of their art and send it with the artwork.
Military addresses
VFW Post 8803 Ladies Auxiliary members are sending boxes of goodies to our military personnel who are serving outside t he country.
If you have a family member who is serving outside the United States Of America please contact Doris Svitek at 484-7218 with the correct name and address so a package can be shipped to them.
Addresses can also be sent to Doris at P. O. Box 105, Tidioute, PA 16351.
Maple field trip
The Tidioute Charter School third and fourth grade recently wrapped up a literature unit on the novel Miracles on Maple Hill by Virginia Sorensen by visiting a working maple sugaring farm in Edinboro. Ms. Janet Woods of Hurry Hill Farm has mirrored her sugaring operation with the book. The students visited the evaporator in full boil and got to sample some of her fresh syrup. They also toured her museum which contains many original artifacts from Mr. Chris's farm (the farm in the story) and got to hold the Newbery Medal which the story was awarded. The PA Woodmobile was also on site and provided a tour.

TCCS apparel
TCCS apparel will be on sale until Tuesday, April 12. All money and orders will be due at this time. You can view the order sheet in full color on the school website at tidioutecharter.com. Some of the items are in the school office so you can try them on for sizing. If you want to personalize your item it is $5. Screen printed items will have the name added on the back of the item. Embroidered items will have the name on the opposite side of the front. Shorts and pants will have the name on the leg. Make sure you spell the name clearly on your order form and indicate that you want your item personalized. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the school at 484-3550.
Basket Raffle
The Student Activities Committee is looking for donation for our spring baskets "Summer Fun" and "Happy Gardening". We will be raffling the baskets at the Spring Concert. All donations are greatly appreciated. Please send items to the school office. We would like to have the baskets put together by the end of April so we can display the baskets in the local businesses prior to the raffle.
Family Events
Wednesday April 13, TCCS will host a family event from 4 to 8 p,m. The Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) Book fair in the library, TCCS's 1st Annual "Celebration of the Arts" Event in the cafeteria, and Red Cross Blood Drive in the gymnasium from noon to 6 p.m.
The Celebration of the Arts Event will be an Art Show for all ages of student work, local artistic talent and live demonstration/performances from various genres of art. There will be art pieces from local talent for sale and a Chinese Auction to raise money for the art program here at TCCS. Mr. Bush's Guitar Class and Mr. Moore's Choir Class will also perform at scheduled times early on in the event. Along with this wonderful celebration of community and school art, the spring BOGO Book Fair Community open house night will be going on from 4 to 8pm in the school library and there will be a Red Cross Blood Drive from noon to 6pm in the Gymnasium.
Books for Kids
In conjunction with the BOGO Book Fair, on Wed. April 13th each student in k-4-6th grade will be able to choose two books from the Book Fair to take home. The students will also receive free magazines such as Highlights for Children, Ranger Rick, Your Big Backyard and Animal Babies. This is taking place because organizers of the campaign Ruby Wiles and Sherry Albrecht, along with an anonymous $1,500 donation, would like each student in Warren County to own a book of their choosing. Donations would be greatly appreciated to be able to include students in grades 7 and 8 in the book giveaway.
Donations needed
The Student Council is asking for wrapped Easter candy for the elementary Easter Egg hunt. Please bring donations to the school office.
The SAC committee is requesting donations of old blue jeans that will be used to make a blue jean quilt that will be raffled int he fall. You can drop off jeans in the school office.
Dinner
A spaghetti dinner will be held on April 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults. $3 for children 2-12 years. Children 2 and under are free.
