Eisenhower High School was honored to have two of their musical students qualify for PMEA Regional Band Competition. They are senior Samantha Conklin on alto saxophone and sophomore Greg Mizak on trumpet. Regional Band will be held today and Saturday at the North East High School in North East .

Eisenhower students Samantha Conklin and Greg Mizak have been selected to take part in the PMEA Regional Band Event this weekend in North East.
A public screening of the documentary movie "Stateline Speedway The first ten years 1956-1965" will be shown Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church. Mark it on your calendars to come out and hear special guest speaker Marv Thorpe and see this movie. If you have attended Stateline over years as a kid or an adult this is a must see event. The cost of admission is $5 and all proceeds from the event will benefit the Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department.
The Family Life Action Youth team will be coming to the area in March to present a feature film "To Save A Life". They will be teaming up with the Youngsville Free Methodist Church at 6 p.m. today. The movie event is geared toward teens and their friends and deals with life situations. Those attending must call ahead and order free tickets for the event. Critters at Library
The Audubon will once again come to Sugar Grove for the Library's Annual Public Meeting on April 13. On Wednesday, April 13, at 6:30 p.m. Jennifer Schlick, a Program and Camp Director of the Audubon Center & Sanctuary of Jamestown, New York, will be bringing a fun and informative program on Marvelous mammals. There will also be mammal artifacts including pelts, skulls, castings of tracks, mammal signs and more. Information on the Audubon Day Camp and other programs will be available during the evening.
Gun & Turkey Party
Friends of Northern Area Wrestling program will be sponsoring a Gun & Turkey Party on Saturday, April 2. Proceeds for the event will be used to sponsor Eisenhower High School students at wrestling camp this summer. The event will be located at the Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department with doors opening at 5 p.m. and raffles beginning at 6 p.m. Gun tickets are available 3 for $10 from any EMHS wrestling parents. The event raffles will include: turkeys, meat packs, steak packs, hams, pepperoni & cheese etc. Food will be available and all are welcome to come out for this fun event and help support our EHS wrestlers.
The Silver Rose
AMVETS and AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary, Post #50 in Sugar Grove are sponsoring a "Silver Rose" fundraiser bingo event to benefit those with Agent Orange and other chemical disorders from the Viet Nam era to present. The Eisenhower Band Boosters are planning for their Annual Spring "Prize Shoot". The event will take place at the Pine Grove Sportsman club on Saturday, April 16, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Boosters are selling raffle tickets and 1st prize is a Mossberg 835, Camo 12 gauge, 2nd prize is a $50 Tall Tales Gift Certificate, 3rd prize is a Gift Certificate to Ribs & Bones. Assorted prizes will be drawn throughout the day. The Raffle tickets are $5 each, or 3 for $10. Any students in jazz band, orchestra, concert band, and marching band can be contacted for tickets or you can call Band Director, Mark Napolitan or Kathy Mizak (757-8766).

Once again this year the Sugar Grove Free Library located at 22 Harmon Street will be holding a 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk on April 16. All proceeds benefit the Sugar Grove Free Library. All ages are welcome to come and participate in the event. Race time will begin at 10 a.m. Registration will be from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the library The start/finish line is in front of Sugar Grove Library on School Street. The cost for the 5K event is $15 before April 2nd or $20 after April 2nd. The cost for the 1 mile Fun run walk is $10 before April 2nd or $15 after that date. T-shirts are guaranteed to all entries received by April. Awards will be given out to several age groups. Registration forms for the run are available at the Sugar Grove Free Library and will have the age breakdowns listed. The Library Fun Walk/Run on April 16 is in need of volunteers to help make the day a success. If you would like to volunteer for one of the many duties, please contact the Library.
Easter Egg Hunt
The Chandlers Valley Annual Easter Egg Hunt is being planned for this spring. As a traditional "Community" event, help is always welcome and all children are invited to attend. Volunteers are needed. Any persons or groups that are interested in being involved should call Candy Hall at (814) 489-3880.
Sugar Grove Food Pantry
Many area volunteers, businesses, and organizations have donated to refill our local Sugar Grove Food Pantry. The food pantry is daily in operation to help out those in need in the Sugar Grove Community. If you are in need of food items this holiday season, please contact the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church at 489-3105 for information on how you can make an appointment with a volunteer who can assist you in receiving needed food items.
A community lunch is provided at the local area churches. The first Friday of each month lunch is provided at the Mission Covenant Church. The 2nd Thursday lunch is provided at the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church. The third Wednesday lunch is provided at the Hessel Valley Lutheran Church. The Chandlers Valley United Methodist Church will be hosting a community lunch on the 4th Monday of the month. All lunches begin at 11:30 a.m. and everyone is welcome to attend.
Eisenhower High School Students will have the opportunity to enhance their school meal program. ARAMARK is conducting a student survey for all middle and high school students to find out how ways students would like to see their breakfast and lunch experience enhanced. Students can visit the WCSD website and click on the link to take them to the survey. Participating Students will be entered in a drawing to win a $25 gift card. One gift card will be awarded per building. The survey will be open from March 7th through April 6th.
Come and enjoy lunch with your grandchildren at the Sugar Grove Elementary School on April 5 and 12. On April 5 the grandparents of all the Kindergarten, 2nd and 4th graders are invited for lunch. Then on April 12 the grandparents of all the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 6th graders are invited to come for lunch. Grandparents may select one of the seven choices for their main entre which will come with a fruit, vegetable, dessert, and choice of milk or water. The cost will be $3.50 which will be collected on the day of visiting. Daily lunch times are as follows: All Kindergarten and 1st grade students eat lunch from 10:30 11. All 2nd and 3rd graders eat lunch 11:10 11:40, Grades 4th ,5th & 6th eat lunch from 11:50 12:20.
