Pancake Supper
There will be a pancake supper to benefit LOVE INC., which stands for Love in the Name of Christ, at the Chandlers Valley United Methodist Church on Jackson Run Road on Saturday, March 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost is a donation. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy blueberry, chocolate chip or regular pancakes
Love in the Name of Christ (Love INC) enables churches and ministries in the area to pool their resources and outreach services so that those in need are not turned away. It coordinates benevolence efforts in the community.

the Library again
The Audubon will once again come to Sugar Grove for the library's annual public meeting on Wednesday April 13, at 6:30 p.m. Jennifer Schlick, a program and camp director of the Audubon Center and Sanctuary of Jamestown, N.Y., will present a program entitled Marvelous Mammals. There will also be mammal artifacts including pelts, skulls, castings of tracks, mammal signs and more.
Information on the Audubon day camp and other programs will be available.
History of Stateline
A public screening of the documentary movie "Stateline Speedway The first ten years 1956-1965" will be shown Saturday March 26, at 7 p.m. at the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church. Marv Thorpe will be the guest speaker.
The cost of admission is $5 and all proceeds from the event will benefit the Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department.
Gun and Turkey Party
Friends of Northern Area Wrestling program will be sponsoring a Gun and Turkey Party on Saturday, April 2. Proceeds for the event will be used to sponsor Eisenhower High School students at wrestling camp this summer.
The event will be located at the Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department with doors opening at 5 p.m. and raffles beginning at 6: p.m. Gun tickets are available 3 for $10 from any EMHS wrestling parents. The event raffles will include: turkeys, meat packs, steak packs, hams, pepperoni and cheese, etc. Food will be available and all are welcome.
The Silver Rose
AMVETS and AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary, Post 50 in Sugar Grove are sponsoring a "Silver Rose" fund-raiser bingo event to benefit those with Agent Orange and other chemical disorders from the Vietnam era to present.
The event is to be held Saturday, April 2, at 2 p.m. at Post 50.

Garage Sale Time
The Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department is looking for those interested in taking part in an indoor garage and yard sale. It will take place on Saturday, March 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch items will be available for purchase.

Good Luck, Evan
On Saturday, March 19, sixth grader Evan Honsberger from Sugar Grove Elementary School will be off to Pittsburgh to the 61st Annual Western Pennsylvania Spelling Bee. The event will take place at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC in Lawrenceville. The winner of this event will receive an all-expense paid trip to represent our region at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., in May 2011.
Those competing will be students from Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Bedford, Blair, Butler, Cambria, Clarion, Clearfield, Crawford, Elk, Fayette, Forest, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Potter, Somerset, Venango, Warren, Washington, and Westmoreland counties.
We are Bookin' Again
Once again this year the Sugar Grove Free Library will be holding a 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk on April 16. All proceeds benefit the library.
All ages are welcome to come and participate in the event. Race time will begin at 10 a.m. Registration will be from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the library The start/finish line is in front of the library on School Street. The cost for the 5K event is $15 before April 2 or $20 after. The cost for the 1 mile Fun run walk is $10 before April 2 or $15 after. T-shirts are guaranteed to all entries received by April. Awards will be given out to several age groups.

Easter Egg Hunt
The Chandlers Valley Annual Easter Egg Hunt is being planned for this spring. As a traditional community event, help is always welcome and all children are invited to attend. Volunteers are needed. Any persons or groups that are interested in being involved should call Candy Hall at 489-3880.

VITA personnel affiliated with RSVP will be available at the Sugar Grove Free Library and at the Sugar Grove Borough building to assist with free 2010 tax preparation.

Food Pantry
Many area volunteers, businesses, and organizations have donated to refill our local Sugar Grove Food Pantry. The food pantry is daily in operation to help out those in need in the Sugar Grove community.
If you are in need of food items, contact the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church at 489-3105 for information on how you can make an appointment with a volunteer who can assist you in receiving needed food items.

Lunch Schedule
A community lunch is provided at the local area churches.
The first Friday of each month lunch is provided at the Mission Covenant Church. The second Thursday lunch is provided at the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church. The third Wednesday lunch is provided at the Hessel Valley Lutheran Church. The Chandlers Valley United Methodist Church will host a community lunch on the fourth Monday of the month.
All lunches begin at 11:30 a.m. and everyone is welcome to attend. Come on out and enjoy lunch and catch up with old and new friends.
EMHS Choir Events
The choirs of the Eisenhower High School will not be presenting Broadway Delights this spring. That is an event that happens only during the years that the choral department has the opportunity to go on its New York City trip.
The Middle Level Choirs will present their concert on Thursday, May 5. The Senior Choir and Fantasia will present their spring concert on Friday, May 13.
FLN Movie
The Family Life Action Youth team will be presenting a feature film "To Save A Life". They will be teaming up with the Youngsville Free Methodist Church on Friday, March 25 at 6 p.m. The movie event is geared toward teens and their friends and deals with life situations.

Web Survey
Eisenhower High School students will have the opportunity to enhance their school meal program. ARAMARK is conducting a student survey for all middle and high school students to learn ways students would like to see their breakfast and lunch experience enhanced. Students can visit the WCSD website and click on the link to take them to the survey.
Participating students will be entered in a drawing to win a $25 gift card. One gift card will be awarded per building. The survey is open through April 6.
Grandparents
Going to School
Come and enjoy lunch with your grandchildren at the Sugar Grove Elementary School on April 5 and 12. On April 5, the grandparents of all the kindergarten, second and fourth graders are invited for lunch.
On April 12, the grandparents of all the first, third, fifth and sixth graders are invited to come for lunch. Grandparents may select one of the seven choices for their main entree which will come with a fruit, vegetable, dessert, and choice of milk or water. The cost will be $3.50, which will be collected on the day of visiting.
Cooking Class
ARAMARK Food Services, the food service company for the Warren County School District, will provide its March Community Cooking Class on Tuesday, March 22, at 6 p.m.
Everyone in the community is invited to attend the cooking class. There is no charge, but pre-registering is required by calling 723-6900 ext 2145. Registration fills to capacity. More than 60 adults and students attend each session of the cooking classes throughout the year to learn new cooking techniques from WCSD Executive Chef, Justin Tech.
This month's class will have the theme, "All About Potatoes" and have recipes, tips, hands-on cooking segments, and samples to taste. Class will be held at Beaty-Warren Middle School. There will be one more class in May and the theme will be Summer BBQ Grilling.
