Sarah Rice has been accepted to the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford for the fall 2011 semester. She currently attends Warren Area High School and plans to major in sports medicine.

Jaimee Jordan, daughter of Toby and Becky Jordan of Lottsville, has been named to the dean's list at Mercyhurst North East for the fall 2010 term. Students named to the list earned a grade average of 3.5 or better. A 2008 graduate of Eisenhower High School, Jordan plans to become a registered nurse and work with children.

Kristin Johnson, daughter of Craig and Donna Johnson of Warren, has been accepted at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania for the fall semester. A senior at Warren Area High School, Johnson has been active in tennis and works at Warren Shurfine. She plans to major in education.

Hillary Anderson, a 2010 graduate of Warren Area High School, has been named to the dean's list for the fall 2010 semester at Ursinus College, Collegeville, Pa. A Zacharias Scholar at Ursinus, Anderson is the daughter of Diana and Eric Paddock of Warren and John and Kris Anderson of Scandia.

Two local residents have been named to the dean's list at Saint Francis University, Loretto, Pa. Michelle McAvoy, a physician assistant science major, is a resident of Warren. Kelsey Stoner, a physical therapy major, is a resident of Youngsville. To achieve dean's list at Saint Francis University, the students must have full-time status and must attain a quality point average of at least 3.5 for the given semester.

Students named to the fall 2010 part-time student dean's list at Jamestown Community College earned at least a 3.50 average, equal to a B plus or better, in six to 11 credit hours of letter-graded work. Named to the dean's list are:

Three local students graduated from Slippery Rock University in December: Kelly A. Johnson of Russell received a bachelor of science degree in finance. Shelby A. Hebner of Sugar Grove received a bachelor of science degree in mathematics. Carol A. Barsody of Youngsville received a bachelor of science degree in marketing.
