Pool Fund Raising
Nearly 50 years ago, many of our parents and grandparents joined together to raise funds and build the Brokenstraw Valley Swimming Pool. The continuing operation of this valuable community resource is in danger. Unless we, the people of our Brokenstraw community, can raise sufficient funds, the pool will be closed. Again as those residents did 50 years ago, we need to join together in a similar effort and continue providing this facility for our youngest residents.
Sunday, March 6, Friends of Brokenstraw Valley Pool, Inc will be going door to door in Youngsville Borough, Irvine and Pittsfield collecting donations and pledges to keep our pool open. If you can help with the door to door just show up at the Youngsville Fire Hall at 1 p.m. We will return for refreshments between 4 and 5 pm.
We will accept immediate donations as well as pledges for as long as a three-year period. Be as generous as you can when our volunteers stop at your home on Sunday.
