Columbian Award
Tidioute Knights of Columbus Council # 9304 was presented with the Columbian Award for 2009-2010 fraternal year. District 19 meeting
Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 8803 will meet on Sunday for their District 19 meeting.
This meeting will be conducted in the Tidioute Firehall at 2 p.m.
All auxiliary members are requested to attend.
Refreshments will be provided after the meeting at the Post home.
Stinebiser
Steering Committee
The Stinebiser Steering Committee will meet on Sunday, February 20 at the Tidioute Firehall at 12 noon.
This meeting will precede the Ladies Auxiliary District 19 meeting.
VFW District 19
Pequignot-Yeager Post 8803, Tidioute, will be hosting the VFW District 19 meeting at the Post Home on Sunday, February 20 , therefore the bar will be closed until 6 p.m. on that day only.
Columbian
Award Winner
Tidioute Knights of Columbus Council #9304 is a Columbian Award winner for the 2009-2010 fraternal year. The award is presented for excellence in the sponsorship of programs that serve the Church, community, families and youth, as well as council members.
This announcement was made by the Knights of Columbus International Headquarters located in New Haven, CT.
Charles Mahood, District Deputy 85, presented the engraved plaque to the council at a special ceremony held on February 3, 2011.
Supreme Knight Carl Anderson, president of the international organization, in recognizing the local winner, said, "Please accept my sincere congratulations on attaining this prestigious award. The dedication to the Order shown by your council is seen in the high standard of excellence you have achieved. At the same time, I encourage you to carry forward this enthusiasm to meet the challengers that will face the Knights of Columbus in the years ahead. May this award be a reminder and an inspiration to the members of your council to continue to promote the ideas of Columbianism for the good of the Church, your community, and the Order."
In accepting the award, Grand Knight, Howard Klingenberg, head of the Tidioute council, said, "Receiving this award is quite an honor. We're very pleased with this accomplishment."

Senior Center menu

The Senior Center will be closed on Monday, Feb. 21.
Tuesday, Feb. 22 will be Stuffed Chicken Breast, mashed potatoes, vegetables and dessert.
Thursday, Feb. 24, will be Hot Meatloaf Sandwiches, mashed potatoes, dessert.

TCCS Spelling Bee
Allyvia Morgan, a student in the sixth grade at Tidioute Community Charter School competed in the Spelling Bee at TCCS and won.
She went on to the All-county Spelling Bee on Friday and took second place for all of Warren County.
Allyvia will now travel to Pittsburgh as the alternate speller.
Pancake supper
Tidioute First United Methodist Church will hold its annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper on Tuesday, March 8, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Cost is $5 per person.
Menu will consist of pancakes, sausage, juice, coffee and tea.
Take out orders are also available.
This will be in the social hall of the Tidioute First United Methodist Church and is open to the public, all are welcome.
SWCMA
The water authority of Tidioute is looking for a volunteer to serve on the local water authority.
The authority meets the second Thursday of each month at the Tidioute Towers in the community room at 7 p.m.
Anyone on the water system is eligible to apply for this volunteer position.

Box tops
Tidioute Community Charter School is still collecting Box Tops for Education and Monica Morgan is in charge of collecting them and sending them in for the school.
Clip and send your coupons in to the Tidioute Community Charter School with you child, a neighbor or drop them off at the school office.

Campbell Soup
Labels
Lena Risen is now in charge of the Campbell Soup labels for Tidioute Community Charter School.
Labels can be sent to school with any of the students or dropped off at the school office.
A complete list of products with these labels can be obtained at the school.
Lions Club
The Tidioute Lions Club would like to congratulate the residents, businesses and campers.
The total recycled for the year 2010 was 133.29 tons.
Anyone who would be willing to assist with the recycling effort is asked to contact King Lion Carmen Fedele at 484-7758 or show up at the Recycling Center located at the intersection of Grant Street and Tidioute Creek Road.
Recycling is done on the first and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 1 p.m., the second Tuesday of the month at approximately 1:30 p.m. after the Board Meeting and on the third Monday of the month at 1p.m.
Lions request
When recycling, please double check the bin in which you are placing your articles.
It is imperative that the correct items are in each bin.
Otherwise, someone has to take the wrong items out.
Please take the caps off all containers.
Please do not leave any paper bags in any of the bins. Break down all cardboard boxes.
Your assistance in these areas would be greatly appreciated.
Chinese auction
VFW Ladies Auxiliary members are still accepting items for their Chinese auction which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Post Home in conjunction with the Chili Cook-off.
Items can be left at the bar.
Borough Council
Tidioute borough council met on Monday evening and discussed and adopted the Storm Water management ordinance.
More information will be gathered at a county meeting on Thursday, February 24 at the Warren County Courthouse. Some council members will be attending this meeting.
Auditors have been auditing the books and just about finished with them.
Police Chief Steve Vincent reported on the past two months and stated he had 37 incidents and traveled 1128 miles.
Members of the PCC will be volunteering hours to do some community service projects such as painting the castle at Benner Park and other projects there, and some work will be done at the Bird Sancuary on Kinnear Street.
Minutes of the January meeting were accepted and the bills were approved for payment.
Council/borough is checking into internet providers to get a better rate for the internet and cell services.
CCR and DUN numbers were obtained and forms were completed that are needed to apply for grants.
