CONNEAUTVILLE - Eisenhower's playoff hopes took a huge hit Monday with a 36-23 loss to Conneaut Valley.
Assuming that the District 10 committee selects six Class A teams for the postseason, the Knights are now one game behind Conneaut Valley for the final playoff position. Even tying the Lady Indians likely won't help Ike as it dropped both games with Conneaut Valley this season.
Eisenhower struggled from the opening tip Monday, failing to score a field goal in the first half while falling behind, 23-6. The Lady Knights played hard until the final whistle, outscoring the hosts 17-13 in the second half, but it wasn't enough.

Kane 71, Sheffield 25
Kane scored at least 14 points in each quarter on its way to routing Sheffield, 71-25, on Senior Night Monday at Sheffield High School.
The Wolverines honored seniors Lacy Bjorkquist, Kerrin Swartz, Brittany Summers and Kristie Steffan before the game. All four girls started the game, albeit briefly for the injured Steffan.
"I was hoping we would win the tip and be able to get Kristie a quick layup," said Sheffield coach Mike Bancroft. "It didn't work out, but there was no way I was going to let her not get out there on Senior Night."
The teams traded field goals in the opening minute of the game, then Kane went on a 14-0 run to open a 16-2 lead. Abby Labesky's two free throws ended the scoring drought for Sheffield (2-19). The Wolverines got a little bit of life at the end of the quarter as Summers hit a field goal at the buzzer to cut the lead to 14 at 20-6 heading into the second.
Kane's pressure and trapping defense gave Sheffield all sorts of problems in the second quarter, leading to turnovers and transition points as the Wolves outscored the Wolverines 19-4 in the period to take a 39-10 lead into the locker room.
The trend continued in the third quarter as Kane was able to stretch its lead even further. The Wolverines did manage to get some shots to fall, scoring 11 points in the period. Labesky hit two field goals late in the quarter, but Sheffield wasn't able to slow the Kane attack trailing by 36, 57-21, going into the fourth quarter.
Kane again limited Sheffield to just four points in the fourth quarter as the Wolves took the 46-point victory.
Labesky led Sheffield with 12 points, while Juli Ely added six points.

SENECA - Warren County Christian School's season ended with a 54-17 loss to Christian Life Academy in the New Penn Christian Conference quarterfinals on Monday.
"(CLA) is the number two seed for a reason," said WCCS coach Rae Parmeter. "They have a very balanced attack and a great deal of seniors. As always, my kids fought until the end and always hustled."
Dymphee Zortman had a strong game for the Lady Lions, finishing with nine points. Aubree Hendrickson added six markers for the winless Lady Lions.
"I'm extremely proud of these girls," added Parmeter. "While we weren't able to win any games, this is not the same team that started the season. We improved a lot. This season was a success because we kept improving."
WCCS finished 0-13.
