WATERFORD - Warren currently stands in fifth place in Region 6 - one game behind both General McLane and Corry - after a 58-14 win over host Fort LeBoeuf Thursday.
"We are on the upswing and we're pushing," said Warren coach Lisa Ruhlman, whose Dragons are 3-4 in the region halfway through the Region 6 schedule. The Dragons are 10-5 overall.
"They are playing good basketball right now," she said. "Let's just hope they continue."

Port 47, Sheffield 26
Port Allegany outscored Sheffield 21-3 in the third quarter as the Gators rolled over the Wolverines, 47-26, Thursday at Sheffield High School.
"It's rebounding - that's it," said Sheffield coach Mike Bancroft, whose Wolverines are 1-14 overall. "They get a shot, they get another shot; I think at one point they got six (offensive rebounds) in a row. If we could do that, we would score points, too."
The Wolverines had a hard time keeping the Gators' Rachel Taylor off the boards, and the scoreboard, all game as Taylor had a double-double with 16 points and 17 rebounds.
Things looked good early for Sheffield as it opened the game on a 7-0 run. Port Allegany was able to answer with a 5-0 run of its own, but the Wolverines held a 9-5 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Both teams would trade buckets in the early part of the second quarter, with the Gators pulling to within one point at 16-15, before Kristie Steffan hit a 3-pointer for the Wolverines. Sheffield would take a 19-16 lead into the locker room.
"I was really, really happy with the way (the girls) played in the first half," Bancroft said. "They saw the court, they looked for fast breaks when they had them, they played basketball."
Bancroft told the team during halftime that they had to start boxing out and coming down with more rebounds.
Port Allegany took its first lead of the game just a minute into the third quarter, opening the period with an 8-0 run. It took Sheffield three minutes to get its only field goal of the quarter, then the Gators would take advantage of Wolverine turnovers by scoring transition points on three straight possessions to push the lead to 11, 33-22.
The Gators limited the Wolverines to just four fourth quarter points as neither team was able to connect on many field goals in the quarter.
"I was happy with the effort we put forth in the game, especially in the first half," Bancroft said. "But we can't give a good shooting team, on a night when they're not shooting well, second and third chances."
Steffan led Sheffield with eight points. Abby Labesky added five points and Hannah Vile and Brittany Summers chipped in with four points each.
The Gators won the junior varsity game 41-15. Lacey Bjorkquist paced the Wolverines with nine points.

Cochranton 42, Youngsville 30
COCHRANTON - Youngsville played Cochranton a little closer in all three of its meeting with the Cardinals this season.
Unfortunately, the Eagles never got close enough.
Slow offensive outputs in the second and third quarters doomed the Eagles Thursday as Cochranton held on for a 42-30 victory at Cochranton High School.
"The girls really hustled, but our passing really hurt us," said Youngsville coach Allison Kitchel. "We had too many turnovers from bad passes and it ended up costing us."
If it hadn't been for struggles in the second and third quarters, the Eagles likely would've won for the sixth time this season. Youngsville outscored Cochranton, 26-17, in the first and fourth quarters, but was outscored 25-4 in the second and third.
Katie Chuzie led the Eagles with 12 points. Lindsey Lyon added nine points and Amber Fox chipped in seven.
Cochranton won the junior varsity game, 37-10. Katelyn Maille and Cierra Ohl both scored four points for Youngsville.
Youngsville (5-10) is off for eight days before hosting Iroquois on Saturday, February 5.

Commodore Perry 62, TCCS 23
HADLEY - Tidioute Charter played equal with Commodore Perry for one quarter, but couldn't keep the momentum rolling during a 62-23 loss at Commodore Perry High School.
Playing without leading scorer Cassie York, the Bulldogs showed promise from the opening tip and the game stood tied at 6-6 after one. However, the hosts put together a 26-4 run in the second stanza to quickly stall any chance for a TCCS victory.
Alexis Morrison did a nice job of picking up the offense in York's absence, scoring 15 points. Four other Lady Bulldogs - Jen Buckley, Loralee Lindemuth, Lacey Kitelinger and Lacy Wolford - also worked their way into the scoring column.
Kitelinger's 11 rebounds were tops for TCCS and Lindemuth added seven of her own.
Commodore Perry also won the junior varsity outing, 36-5. Kitelinger and Jen Buckley scored two points each for Tidioute.
The Lady Bulldogs return to action Saturday, hosting West Middlesex. Junior varsity tips at 1 p.m. with varsity to follow.
