Warren's boys basketball team needed somebody to step up last week to fight for the Dragons' Region 7 playoff lives. Other county standouts included Warren Lady Dragons' guard Jaimie Eaton, who scored a season-high 26 points in a Region 6 victory over Fairview on Saturday. She had 54 points in three games. Warren County Christian School's Andrew Hammersley scored 20 of his team's 31, and 15 rebounds, in a loss, and 30 more points and 20 rebounds combined in two wins. But Preston McMeans had a game-high 20 points, including the go-ahead fourth quarter bucket in a Warren boys 40-37 region win over Girard Saturday. Earlier, he had three baskets at the end of a 65-56 region win over Corry - a game that was tied with 3:50 left. The junior finished with a game-high 23 points, six rebounds and five assists.
