Arts-N-Crafts

Tuesday, February 3 will be Shepherds pie, vegetable and dessert.
Turkeys given away
During the Christmas season turkey breasts were given to Linda Scott, who is in charge of the Salvation Army Unit in Tidioute, to distribute to those in need for the holiday meal.
The person donating the turkey breasts wishes to remain anonymous. These were given out to those who had a need and this is in no way connected to the Salvation Army or any of the other food give away programs that are held in Tidioute.

Flap Jacks Nite
For those pancake lovers, Saturday, Jan. 29, is your lucky night.
First Presbyterian Church in Tidioute will be holding a Flap Jack Nite from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Cost is $5 per person and will include pancakes, sausage, applesauce, juice and hot beverages.
Soup sales
Tidioute First United Methodist Church will be holding their annual Super Bowl Sunday on Sunday, Feb. 6, from 12 noon till they are sold out which is usually by 2 p.m.
Soups to choose from include chicken and rice, chicken noodle, chili, vegetable beef, broccoli and cheese.
Cost is $3 for a 16-ounce container, $3.50 for a 20-ounce container and $4.50 to eat in at the church.
There will be take out orders or you can eat in, which ever you prefer.
PSCFT Bingo
Bingo players are reminded that there will be another day of Bingo on Sunday, Feb. 13, at Buccardo's Restaurant in social room.
Doors open at 3 p.m. and games begin at 4 p.m.
All proceeds benefit the Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament.
Food commodity
The Tidioute Food Commodity that is connected with the Salvation Army and currently being handled by Jeri Higgins will now be handled by Betty Johnson who lives at the Tidioute Towers.

Arts-N-Crafts
Residents at the Tidioute Towers have been enjoying some Arts-N-Crafts at the Towers in the community room.
This is open to anyone who would like to take part in the fun.
There are still some apartments available.

Pound auction
At the January dinner meeting of the Tidioute Lions Club, which was a spaghetti dinner at the ST John Center, Tidioute Lions Club members and their guests enjoyed a fundraising Pound Auction to benefit the election of Harold Ott for the office of Second Vice President of Lions Club International.
Past International Director Ott would then work his was up the channels to be the International President from Pennsylvania.
The auction netted $66 to help pay the assessment of $1 per member each year for four years.
Those attending the dinner were: Dave Hoffman, Mike Cassese, Betty Marshall, Arlene Clinger, Sandy Borland, Richard Borland, Lloyd Jenkins, Jim Marshall, Evie Buser, Tom Buser, Carman Fedele, Denise Myers, Daisy McDonald, and Carol Jenkins.
VFW Ladies Auxiliary
Officers from the VFW Post 8803 ladies Auxiliary and District 19 spent an enjoyable weekend in Gettysburg.
Traveling to Gettysburg were District 19 Commander Dan Edminston and his wife Jackie who is treasurer of the Post 8803 Auxiliary, President of the auxiliary-Doris Svitek, Sr. Vice-Sue Smith and co-chairs of district 19's Voice of Democracy-Fran and Hank Stoneburg.
The purpose of the trip was to show support for Ben Reed, District 19's entry winner in the Voice of Democracy Scholarship essay contest.
Ben is presently a senior at Tidioute Community Charter School.
Ben and 23 other winners were chosen from over 500 essays which were entered from the state of Pennsylvania.
District 19 and especially Post 8803 are very proud of Ben.
Creative Art Award
It is time once again for the Young American Creative Art Awards.
Fran Stoneburg, youth chairperson for the VFW Post 8803 Ladies Auxiliary will be contacting the high schools in the area within the week.
Health And Dental Center
The Board of Directors met on Jan. 18 for discussion on the progress of the Center.
Warren General Hospital has announced that due to requests from the public and Corporation, a second dentist will be added to the staff and a family practitioner will be available for appointments at the Center in early February.
Dr. Stanley Sivak will also be in attendance later this summer.
It was reported that the Tuesday Blood Draws have been widely accepted and very much appreciated.
Also, a topic of discussion was the ice buildup on the roof. CBF Contracting will be contacted to address the issue.
The Corporation is not making a profit from the Center - every donation received goes back into the Center, and it was noted that 96 percent of the $790,000 goal has be reached.
Donations are still being sought in order to set up an Endowment Fund for future expenses, making improvements to the parking lot across the street, emergency maintenance if needed in the future and minimal administrative costs.
Donations can be sent to TAHDC, Inc., PO Box 153, Tidioute, Pa. 16351.
Corporation members wish to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Tidioute residents, non-residents, Warren and Forest County businesses and industries, Chris Darling and Warren General Hospital who so very generously contributed to this project.
Without this assistance, the Health, Dental and Pharmacy Center wouldn't be in existence today.
The next regular meeting of the Corporation will be held on Tuesday, April 18. Time and place will be announced in early April.
