UNION CITY - The Lady Eagles advanced to the championship game of the Union City Tournament on Tuesday with a 45-39 win over the hosts.
"Our main thing is when we are ahead we need to slow it down," said Youngsville coach Allison Kitchel, whose Eagles are 2-3 overall. "(We) did hustle and overall did pretty well."
Lindsey Lyon had 17 points, Katie Chuzie a season-high 14 and Amber Fox added eight points.
The Eagles play Cochranton at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Union City High School.

NORTH EAST - Warren improved to 6-0 overall with a 49-33 Tuesday night win over Seneca at the North East Classic.
Sabrina Anderson had a double-double with 13 points, 12 rebounds and four assists, and Kristin Hultquist and Emily Sherman added 10 and eight rebounds, respectively, and Warren was not challenged in the first half.
"It was a sluggish start. They got going and started to rebound," said Warren coach Lisa Ruhlman. "Our free throws are killing us. I think we've outrebounded our opponents, but we're not close to where we need to be."
Jaimie Eaton had 12 points and four assists, and Kristie Reynolds had a good defensive game.
Warren plays Reynolds on Wednesday at North East High School.
The Warren junior varsity team defeated Iroquois, 47-7. Kaitlin Ishman led the winners with 18 points. The Dragons will battle Reynolds at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
