The Lake Erie Ballet presents "The Nutcracker" at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, at Warner Theatre, Erie. This year marks the Lake Erie Ballet's 52nd annual Nutcracker and will feature the return of local talent, Carrie Burns-Frase as the Sugar Plum Fairy. Ernest Tolentino of Milwalkee Ballet and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre will return as her Cavalier.
This year the Lake Erie Ballet plans to host many contributing performers from the Erie dance community as well as students and faculty of the Mercyhurst College Dance Department. On Saturday evening, Dec. 18, the Lake Erie Ballet Orchestra will perform under the direction of Bruce Morton Wright.
Tickets for the Saturday and the Sunday performances are available through the Erie Civic Center Box office, 452-4857 or via the internet at www.ticketmaster.com. Ticket prices are $12 - $32.

Other events surrounding this year's Nutcracker event include the Special Performance Series, Friday night's "Meet the Performers" and the Sunday afternoon Sugar Plum Fairy Party. A childrens' matinee will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, and an open dress/special performance with orchestra is planned for 7 p.m. Friday. Meet the performers is planned for 6:30 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
