VFD Bingo

Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department will reopen bingo on Wednesday, Dec. 1.

Doors will open at 5 p.m., early bird bingo begins at 6 p.m. and regular bingo begins at 7 p.m.

Helen Williams is the new Bingo coordinator and there is a new group/team of workers.

There will be some new changes made, so please come and join in the fun and perhaps win a game or two.

Community Calendars

Tidioute Community/Birthday Calendars are available at Polly's ShurSave Market and Just Country for $3 each.

These make great gifts for birthdays and Christmas.

The calendars list the birthdays and anniversaries of Tidioute residents and their families as well as activities in the community.

PSCFT Bingo

Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament committee members will be holding a bingo game at Buccardo's Restaurant on Sunday, Dec. 12.

Doors open at 3 p.m. and the games will begin at 4 p.m.

Proceeds benefit tournament activities.

Cookie Walk

Ladies Guild of ST John Church in Tidioute will be holding their annual Cookie Walk on Saturday, December 18 from 11 a.m. till 3 p.m. and following the 4:30 p.m. mass.

Anyone wanting to participate in the baking should call Maggie Oliver at 463-7690.

The cookie walk is open to the public, all are welcome to come and make their purchases of some of the finest baked goods.

Ladies Guild

Christmas Dinner

Members of the St. John Ladies Guild will hold their Christmas Dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at the Forest Hills Restaurant at 6 p.m.

Your choice of meat is stuffed chicken breast or stuffed pork chop, each dinner comes with all the trimmings for a cost of $13.99 plus tax.

A sign up sheet is at St John's Church and at ST Anthony's.

There will be $10 gift exchange for those who wish to participate.

Girl Scout Bazaar

Tidioute Girl Scouts will be hosting a Holiday Bazaar on Tuesday, Dec. 7 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Tidioute First United Methodist Church.

Members of the Tidioute Girl Scouts gathered last week and made several items for this bazaar. Please stop in and browse, you are sure to find some really great items for sale.

Children are invited to write letters to Santa and drop them off in his mailbox that will be at the Bazaar.

Holiday vendors are invited to participate. Refreshments will be available.

VFD meeting

The December meeting of the Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 28.

Voting for officers will take place from noon to 1 p.m. and then from 6:30 p.m. to 7:25 p.m. prior to the meeting.

Fire Department

Christmas Dinner

Members of the Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department will be having a Christmas Party/dinner for its members on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 6 p.m. at the firehall.

All members are invited to attend.

If you would like to come join in the festivities please bring a tureen to pass and table service.

VFW Ladies

Auxiliary Breakfast

Members of the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW Post 8803 will hold a Christmas Breakfast meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 15 at 9:30 a.m. at the Tippy Canoe Inn.

There is a sign up sheet behind the bar at the Post Home.

A $5 gift exchange will be part of the festivities, if you choose to participate.

Bell ringers

Our Tidioute Unit of the Salvation Army will be ringing the bells one more weekend.

Our prime sights are the Tidioute Trading Post, Northwest Savings Bank and Polly's ShurSave Market.

Anyone who has an extra hour to spare and would like to ring at one of these locations Friday or Saturday is invited to sign up on the sheet at the location of your choice for what times slots you would be willing to ring the bells.

Any age group is welcome, younger children need to be accompanied by an adult.

If you want to make a donation, you can make your check payable to Salvation Army-Tidioute Unit and mail it to Linda Scott at 60 Jefferson St., Tidioute, Pa. or stop at the Northwest Savings bank in Tidioute and see Pam Bova. Our paper kettles are also available at Tippy Canoe, Tidioute Trading Post, Northwest Savings, Landmark Hotel, Tidioute Hardware, and a kettle is at Polly's ShurSave and Buccardo's Restaurant.

Funds raised in Tidioute stay in Tidioute to assist those in need. Tidioute Unit serves those in the Tidioute-16351 and Grand Valley-16420 area.

Gun raffle winners

Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department held their annual Fall Gun Raffle on Saturday night and the following were the winners of the guns listed on the tickets.

Operation

Christmas Child

The Operation Christmas Child, a.k.a. Christmas Shoe Boxes has wrapped another successful year.

Tidioute First United Methodist Church filled nine plastic shoe boxes for children who are less fortunate.

When these boxes were delivered to the drop off site, it was observed that there were over 1600 boxes dropped off for delivery.

This program know as Samaritan's Purse was founded by Franklin Gram Ministries.

Past Matrons Dinner

Past Matrons of Sylvania Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star are reminded of their Christmas Dinner on Thursday, December 9 at Myrna Bailey's home, 102 Davis Street, Tionesta.

Social hour 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. they will be eating at 6:30 p.m.

Please bring an appetizer or a dessert to share, B.Y.O.B and bring your bathing suit.

There will be a short business meeting.

Food Vouchers

Applications for the Christmas Food Basket Vouchers are out and are due back to the committee by Wednesday, Dec. 8 to Dennis Ledebur, c/o Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 144, Tidioute, PA 16351.

Monetary donations are still being accepted to help fulfill all the applications and they can be made payable to Jane Downey and mailed to Dennis Ledebur at the above address.

Treasurers

For Children

Our Treasurers For Children program is well underway this year and there are tags on the tree at Northwest Savings Bank in Tidioute.

Those wishing to purchase items for these children under the age of 18 can do so by picking up a tag and once your shopping is finished,

please return the items to the bank, unwrapped, where they will be given to the parents or guardians time for Christmas.

Thanks to a very special Angel, our little angels will have a wonderful Christmas this year.
