Trash Pick Up

Tidioute residents are reminded that the trash pick up this week will be on Friday, November 26.

Please have your bags of trash at the curb by 6 a.m. on Friday this week.

Fall Gun Raffle

Once again the Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting their annual Fall Gun a Raffle at the Tidioute Firehall in the truck bays. Cost of a gun ticket is $10 and your ticket stub will serve as a ticket to get in for the event.

Several raffles will take place during the evening.

This will be on Saturday, Nov. 27, with the doors opening at 6 p.m.

Tickets are $10 each from local merchants or members of the Tidioute Fire Department.

Bingo Sunday

There will be Bingo games at Buccardo's Restaurant on Sunday, November 28 with doors opening at 3 p.m. and the games will begin at 4 p.m.

Open to the public and is being sponsored by Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament Committee members.

Christmas Lights

Members of the Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department spent Sunday morning hanging the Holiday Christmas lights across the streets.

Christmas displays are in place, the gazebo and the library shrubs and windows have also been decorated.

Many residents have been taking advantage of the beautiful sunny weather and putting up their lights and displays early this year.

Bell Ringers Needed

There are still several time slots for bell ringers at the Tidioute Trading Post and at Pollys ShurSave Market.

If you are willing to donate some time, one hour intervals, ringing please contact Linda Scott at 484-7525 to sign up at the Trading Post or call Jane Downey at 484-3855 to ring at Polly's Market.

Ringers will be ringing at both sites on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. till 8 p.m.

Donations made in Tidioute kettles, stay in Tidioute.

Paper Kettles

Once again the Tidioute Unit of the Salvation Army has placed paper kettles in the Tippy Canoe, Tidioute Trading Post, Northwest Savings Bank, Landmark Hotel and Tidioute Hardware and a Kettle in Pollys ShurSave Market.

Donations of at least $1 are being accepted for the paper kettles and your name is placed on the kettle and posted in that business. If you do not want your name on the kettles you can just make a donations.

Proceeds from these paper kettles and the smaller kettles will stay here in Tidioute to assist those in need.

Food Basket

Applications

Applications for a Christmas food basket voucher will be available at local businesses beginning on Wednesday, November 24.

These applications must be mailed back by Wednesday, December 8 to Dennis Ledebur, c/o First Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 144, Tidioute, PA 16351.

Holiday Bazaar

Tidioute Girl Scouts will be hosting a Holiday Bazaar on Tuesday, December 7 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m at the Tidioute First United Methodist Church.

Children are invited to write letters to Santa and drop them in his mail box at the fundraiser.

Refreshments will be available,

Holiday vendors are invited to participate. To reserve a table contact Jenn Hittie at 814-706-5343.

Treasures

For Children

Applications are available for Tidioute and Grand Valley residents who feel a need for Christmas assistance from the Salvation Army this year.

These application are available at Northwest Savings Bank in Tidioute.

When the applications are returned to the bank, a tag with the age, and gender of the child along with some gift ideas will be placed on the bulletin board/Christmas tree and those who wish to purchase items for these children may stop by the bank and select as many tags as they wish and then once the shopping is complete please return the items to the bank and they will be given to the appropriate families in time for Christmas.

Treasures for Children is for children ranging in age from birth to age 18. All names are being kept private and only the members of our Salvation Army Unit know the identity of the individuals.

Senior Center Menu

Lunch for Monday, November 29 will be stuffed peppers or cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes, vegetables and dessert.

Tuesday, November 30 will be Spanish rice, vegetables and dessert.

Thursday, December 2 will be cooks choice.

Please call the day before to sign up for lunch or call anytime to get the menu at 484-3020.

Community Calendars

Tidioute Community Birthday and Events Calendars are on sale at Just Country, Buccardo's Restaurant and Tidioute Community School for $3 each.

Fire Department

Christmas Party

Members of the Tidioute Volunteer Fire Department will be having a Christmas Party and dinner for its members on Saturday, Dec. 18, at 6 p.m. at the firehall.

If you would like to donate anything food items for this party contact Beth Silvis at 688-1840 or Mindy Veasey at 484-5081.

VFD Bingo

Tidioute Volunteer Fire Department Bingo will resume on Wednesday, Dec. 1.

Doors will open at 5 p.m and early bird bingo begins at 6 p.m. regular bingo starts at 7 p.m.

Helen Williams will be the new Bingo coordinator.

There is also going to be a new group/team of workers as well as some new changes being made.

Please come and join the new team of workers and show your support.

Ladies Guild

Christmas Dinner

Members of the ST John Ladies Guild will hold its Christmas Dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at the Forest Hill Restaurant at 6 p.m.

Your choice of meat is stuffed chicken breast or stuffed pork chop; both come with all the trimmings.

Sign up sheets are at both St. John and St. Anthony churches.

There is also going to be a gift exchange of $10 if you want to participate.

Sylvania Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star have cookbooks for sale at Buccardo's restaurant for $10 each.
