Hoover second at JCC math contest

Patrick Hoover, a student at Youngsville High School, placed fourth in Jamestown Community College's 20th annual high school mathematics contest recently.

Open to high school juniors and seniors, the contest is coordinated by JCC's science, technology, engineering and mathematics division. After the contest, students participated in problem solving, chemistry and physics demonstrations.

Placing ahead of Hoover were Natalie Burns, first, Falconer Central School; Joey Campion, second, Jamestown High School; and Richa Gupta, third, also of Jamestown.
