Kyle A. Papalia, a senior at Warren Area High School, has been accepted for fall 2011 admission at Penn State University, University Park. Papalia will enroll in the College of Earth and Mineral Science and major in materials science and engineering. He is the son of Sue and Dave Papalia of Warren.

Benjamin Kafferlin of Spring Creek has been accepted into the Philosophy Club at Ashland University in Ohio. He is majoring in political science. The club provides students with the opportunity to discuss various philosophical concepts and ideas. It is an open forum in which members can examine their current belief systems and evaluate them with those of their peers. Guest speakers also are invited at various points during the year to lecture on current affairs, such as political ethics and religious issues.

Preston Barrett, from Russell, has been awarded the Ray and Virginia McGarvey Scholarship and a Daniel S. and Wendy J. Mead Trustee Scholarship. Barrett is a sophomore enrolled in the Division of Undergraduate Studies and graduate of Eisenhower Middle/Senior High School.

Kassandra Barrett, from Warren, has been awarded a Lawrence and Elizabeth Held Scholarship. Barrett is a junior marketing major and graduate of Warren Area High School.

Cody Brown, from Tidioute, has been awarded a Daniel S. and Wendy J. Mead Trustee Scholarship. Brown is a senior political science major and graduate of Tidioute Community Charter School.

Garrett Fiscus, from Russell, has been awarded a Joseph H. DeFrees Scholarship. Fiscus is a freshman science major and graduate of Eisenhower Middle/Senior High School.

Courtney Froman, from Warren, has been awarded a Joseph H. DeFrees Scholarship. Froman is a senior accounting major and graduate of Warren Area High School.

Krystal Gage, from Warren, has been awarded a Joseph H. DeFrees Scholarship. Gage is a sophomore science major and graduate of Warren Area High School.

Danielle Hamm, from Warren, has been awarded a National Science Foundation STEM Scholarship. Hamm is a freshman science major and graduate of Warren Area High School.

Taylor Hansen, from Pittsfield, has been awarded a Clark Family and Snap-Tite, Inc. Scholarship. Hansen is a sophomore science major and graduate of Youngsville Middle-Senior High School.

Madelyn Hoover, from Pittsfield, has been awarded a Barbara Junker Trustee Scholarship. Hoover is a junior chemistry major and graduate of Youngsville Middle-Senior High School.
