Irish Night set for Friday

November 4, 2010
The Times Observer

Join The Wild Rovers, Celtic Creek and Clann Na Cara Champion Dancers for a "A Night of Live Irish Music & Dance" at the Crown Theater, 21 E. Third St., Jamestown, N.Y., at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5. The Wild Rovers is an Irish music duo from Olean, N.Y. Billy O'Connell and Andy Hannon have been performing Irish music together for decades and are fixtures at the Olean Irish Festival every September. If there is an Irish tune you want to hear, these two can probably play it.

Beth and Jim McQuiston are Celtic Creek. They have performed in venues from Olean to Pittsburgh and are expanding to tri-state status this year adding Ohio to their Celtic music belts. With Jim on 12-string guitar and Beth on the flute and harmonica, they perform such tunes as "Danny Boy," "Whiskey in the Jar," "Finnegan's Wake" and more! And no Irish show would be complete without Irish Step Dancers. Clann Na Cara Champion Irish Step-Dancers will perform in both their gillies and their horn-piped shoes. Clann Na Cara, pronounced 'Clonn Na Karra' is Gaelic for "A Family of Friends." That is what we want everyone in attendance to feel like, "Friends," they said. Clap along, enjoy the music and the dances. We dare you to keep your feet still! They'll Keep Your Irish Eyes Smiling! Come join us for the fun!

Experience this Night of Irish Music & Dance at the Lovely Crown Theater! Give a gift of music to yourself, your friends or your family! Open seating and tickets are on sale in Warren with cash or check at Warren United News, Second Ave.; Virg Ann Flower Shop, Pennsylvania Ave. W.; and in Jamestown, N.Y., at KC's Emporium, 108 W. Third St., or charge tickets at 489-3110.
