Three seats in the U.S. Congress are up for grabs as Election Day in Pennsylvania approaches on Nov. 2.
The nation's eyes will be on the tight U.S. Senate race pitting U.S. Representative Joe Sestak (D-7th District) versus Republican Pat Toomey.
Sestak defeated long-time Senate incumbent Arlen Specter, who switched parties from Republican to Democrat in April 2009.
Toomey defeated perennial candidate Peg Luksik for the Republican nomination.
Locally, Kathy Rapp (R-Warren) discovered late last week that she will be facing a write-in candidate to retain her seat in the State House of Representatives' 65th District.
Karen Davis (D-Warren) announced on Friday that she is running against Rapp.
The 65th District includes Warren and Forest Counties, along with parts of McKean.
Davis, a retired elementary school teacher, served for eight years on Warren City Council.
Kathy Dahlkemper (D-Erie) is running to retain her seat representing the 3rd District in Congress. She faces Republican candidate Mike Kelly (Butler).
In the 5th Congressional District, Glenn Thompson (R-Centre) faces two opponents - Democrat Michael Pipe and Libertarian candidate Vernon Etzel, of Oil City.
In the state's gubernatorial race, Demcrat Dan Onorato is pitted against Republican Tom Corbett.
There are no local races amongst the county's various municipalities.
