Effective July 1, the Halloran Foundation announced that it has sold the stock of AR Trucking, Inc. to Bradford businessmen Frederick W. Fesenmyer and Robert L. Saunders.
Fred Fesenmyer was raised in Bradford, the great-grandson of the founder, Lewis Emery, Jr., of Minard Run Oil Company, which is the oldest, largest independent oil company in the United States still operating on the same company properties under the same family management for 135 continuous years or six (6) generations beginning in 1875. Fesenmyer took over the family business in 1976, and he continues as President and CEO of Minard Run Oil Company to the present day.
Bob Saunders has deep roots in the oil business, as his father was an oil executive with Witco Corp. Saunders moved to Bradford in 1971 while he was still in law school.
AR Trucking, Inc., of Warren is engaged in the business of hauling petroleum crude from various production sites in the area to the refineries for processing. ART covers a 150 mile radius from its location including well pick-up sites in Warren, McKean, Forest, Elk, Erie, Jefferson, Cattaragus, Allegany and Chautauqua counties located in Pennsylvania and New York. Harry Halloran purchased this company in 2005 from I. L. Geer & Sons, Inc., who began hauling crude oil in 1903 with a horse and wagon, purchasing their first truck in 1929.
