Food basket

fund drive

In the Fall of the year, we begin to think about all the things we are thankful for: blessed lives, loving families, good friends and sufficient food on the table. This year we may see an increased need for help that you will generously support our efforts within the community to provide for those less fortunate so that they may be able to have enough to truly celebrate the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

We have combined both holidays into one appeal for funds. By beginning a little earlier this year we hope to receive most of the donations by the middle of November allowing the committee to determine the amounts available for each holiday.

Last year we helped 33 families within our community. The amount of the vouchers for each family was reflected by the number of persons living in the home and ranged from $20 to $100 and was used at Polly's ShurSave market on Main Street, Tidioute prior to each holiday.

Please make your donations payable to Jane Downey, treasurer and mail them to Dennis Ledebur, CLP, First Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 144, Tidioute, PA 15351.

Please mail your donations to us by Saturday, November 13 if possible. If you are not able to send your donations by this date, any and all donations will be accepted with the same gratitude.

Food basket

applications

Applications for the holiday food baskets will be available this weekend in local businesses and must be returned to the committee at the address on the application by Nov. 6 no later for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The next meeting for the Holiday Food Basket committee members will be on Monday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church.
