Theresa LaBarte received the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine on May 30. She is completing a preliminary internal medicine internship, followed by a neurology residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, Calif. She is the daughter of Ron and Cathy LaBarte of Sugar Grove.

Mark A. Bialas has entered medical school as a member of the class of 2014 at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM). In 2007 he earned a bachelor of science degree in energy business and finance from the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences at Penn State University, University Park. Subsequently he remained at Penn State where he completed two additional years of pre-medical studies in the post-baccalaureate pre-med program in the Eberly College of Science. As a volunteer in the AmeriCorps Project of the federal government, he spent the past year working with indigent disabled children at Shands Memorial Hospital at the University of Florida in Jacksonville, Fla. Bialas is a 2003 graduate of Warren Area High School and is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Paul Bialas of Warren.
