Mr. and Mrs. Ramon P. Harris Sr. (Ray and Evelyn) of Russell celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 14, 2010. She is the former Evelyn E. Saydak. The couple was married in Johnstown at Zion Lutheran Church. A dinner was hosted Sunday, June 13, at Sprague's Restaurant in Portville, N.Y., by son Ramon Harris Jr. and his wife, Donna; granddaughter Julia and grandson Michael. Also attending were friends Jim and Eleanor Schrecongost.
On the anniversary day, June 14, daughter Stephanie and son-in-law David Galey presented the couple with a surprise dinner and an overnight stay at the Sheraton Bayfront, Erie. Stephanie and Dave joined the couple for dinner.
Son Matthew, of Inglewood, Calif., was unable to attend but another celebration will occur later this fall in California.
